Flo Fox's Dicthology

This interesting documentary is about a woman who, despite being nearly blind, takes humorous pictures of the penis's of every man who sets foot in her apartment. These pictures which range from a penis on a hot dog bun with mustard to a penis caught in a mouse trap are incredibly funny are a coupled with perfectly ironic music. This is a film that will never get the distrabution it deserves.

This offbeat film on Fox's lifetime obsession with photographing penises is both whimsical and poignant. Krakowski's handling of the material (no pun intended) keeps the viewer engaged and laughing out loud at the assortment of dressed and decorated phalluses depicted in Fox's images. At times, you might blush and feel awkward... but, you will not turn away. And in the midst of the funniest moments, Krakowski introduces an aspect of Fox's life that takes your appreciation of her work to another level.

This is a short film you will want to view more than once.

HBO would clearly benefit from picking up this documentary!

This wonderfully edited 14 minute film gives only a small taste of a truly unique, brilliant, funny and complex artist who stubbornly refuses to allow anything stop her from realizing her vision. Consisting entirely of Ms. Fox's low key and rapier witty explanation of her life and work, the film includes the music of Muddy Water and George Thoregood and the Destroyers. Ms. Fox has also published books of her photos (on other subjects), has had her own cable show (The Fotoflow Show) and was a costume designer for the NY Shakespeare Festival. She has most recently been under treatment for lung cancer after years of chain smoking.
