What is Victoria Abril doing in such a trite movie ?

Although "Et Après" directed by Mohammad Ismail tackles the touchy topic of clandestine immigration, it does not have anything new to offer to an international audience. This is partly due to the fact that a film like this one can be made in all Asian/African and Latin American countries. As most of the people from Asia, Africa and Latin America are desperate to go to west by whatever means, there would always be people like Mustapha-a young Moroccan, who would risk their lives in order to amass maximum wealth using minimum time, energy and resources. This particular chap is a strange individual. As a male chauvinist, he likes to have a nice time in the company of beautiful white European women, he shudders at the thought of his sister going out. "Et Après" asks the basic question to all potential immigrants : What next ? There are not many who are able to answer it. As many of these people are either drowned or caught by police. This can only be answered by those who are able to cross the frontiers.
