Don't be fooled simply because this film was made during Cultural Revolution

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: Golden Highway, part I.

It is easy to dismiss this movie as communist propaganda, especially when this film was made during the Cultural Revolution. However, it would be extremely foolish to do so because this film is actually a cautious survival attempt of the film crew by depicting something safe, that happened years ago and something without debate.
