      A Disappointment

I'm a fan of these shot-on-video features and if you look at my profile you'll see that I've watched many of them and rate them right next to AFI's 100 greatest and make allowances for the lack of resources these independent filmmakers have.I'm an easy film viewer to please, as long as a film is entertaining and engaging I'm a happy camper. Before I make my comment I have to say that I think John Bowker is a talented filmmaker .I could see it in this film Housebound. But despite his talent this film was just awful and I think it has to do with the fact that there was no story here. The first half was padded out with weakly fleshed out character development played by even weaker acting (even by shot-on-video feature film standards!)ability.

What did work was the two Men-In-Black characters and the surprisingly good make-up effects as well as the music by Twisted Tower Dire. There were some nice film shots but despite all this the weak undeveloped story and boring filler material was not enough to rescue this feature.

      wee too much filler bound*spoilers*

A monstrous space critter (that looks like a wig with legs) torments a group of unsuspecting people (amongst them an agrophobic woman and her put-upon sister), while two hunters are on it's trail. Not SO bad, but way too much filler for a film thats not even an hour and a half. I'll give it leeway for being an obviously home-made movie, but I still wouldn't sit through it twice.

Eye Candy: Shannon Barksdale shows brief nippage while in a bath

DVD extras: Commentary by John Bowker, Joe Sherlock and Tim Ritter; bloopers; behind the scenes; theatrical trailer; trailers for "the Seekers", "Dreamwalkers", :Evilmaker", and "Abomination: Evilmaker 2"

      My Homemade movie Grade: D+
