Woody Allen made a mediocre movie exploring how one story could be told two ways (Melinda, Melinda). Rob Slane made a great one.
Check out his funny film "The Fine Live Between Cute And Creepy" and see where on the line you fall. Watch it and you will think twice before you judge someone without hearing both sides of the story.
Grab a married friend and see if they can relate. Take single friends and see if they might now want to give someone a second chance or want to review that snap dating judgment. Rob Slane has written and directed a modern cautionary fable of romance that urges you to please look at your half empty or half full glass of relationships.

Like all screen plays, a writer does his/her best to avoid unnecessary dialog. I'd imagine in short films, this rule of thumb is even more pertinent. Although Cute and Creepy does not answer all your inquiries about love, it definitely raises new questions. How would I react to a secret admirer? Would I be flattered, or would that note left on my doorstep be borderline stalking? While many films are made to entertain, this one will definitely make you think. Highly recommended. Just as satisfying as a 90 minute feature, minus all the popcorn in your teeth. Looking forward to more pieces of work from this brilliant writer/producer...
I tend to favor your typical bubble-gum pop and classic movies and had very little interest in INDI films. Those that I HAVE seen were either blatant political propaganda disguised as "art" or had such a narrowly focused target audience that I didn't empathize with the main characters.
This film, however shatters all those preconceived notions! The plight of a romantic man in this day and age is so perfectly laid out in this short foray into irony. I just wish it was available to purchase! I have a number of friends and family members who would get a kick out of the irony, the dry humor, the only-slightly-overplayed stereotyped characters. You're not a fly on the wall in a real scenario, but so very close that it forces you to ask questions of yourself.
This is an exemplary piece of film, and if you get the chance to catch it DO! If you have plans, then set your TIVO... it is completely worth it!

We all interpret someone else's motivations and actions based upon a variety of subjective factors- our background, interpersonal history, friends/family influences . . . This short film really puts into focus how easily misinterpreted someone else's intentions can be based upon our own vantage point. And in 30 minutes it really makes you think and take stock of where you sit and how you would react to scenarios that the characters found themselves in. Would be really interesting to watch this movie with a group of friends both male/female to discuss our interpretations. Anyhow, highly recommend this film for entertainment value but also for some not too heavy philosophical thinking.
I saw this film last year and just knew it would be successful! I was very glad to see that it won some awards, it definitely deserves the attention. The storyline is so original, it makes you want to watch it more than once! I have never seen another film showing 2 different points of view to the same situation - very creative! The characters are very believable in each situation, and my favorite scene is when the black woman starts yelling in the parking lot - she is absolutely hysterical!! I laughed so hard I cried and I think I even heard my husband snort, although he denies it. KUDOS to the writer and director on such a wonderful short film! I will keep an eye out for other films done by these writers/directors. Congratulations on a winner.
