Superman has become one of the most anticipated movies of 2025, and audiences have gotten a new look at David Corenswet's depiction of the famous superhero ahead of the expected second trailer in the next few weeks. The teaser trailer for Superman back in December broke records as the most-watched teaser in Warner Bros. history, showing a growing appetite to see the first superhero return to the big screen. The hype is so significant that fans likely tuned into the Puppy Bowl to see the breakout star of the trailer, Krypto.

Initial word from the first internal screenings of Superman was not especially positive, but reports from more recent test-screenings of James Gunn's Dcu reboot definitely sounded more optimistic.
Now, we have a few more details to share. This comes via reliable (or at least semi-reliable) sources, but should still be taken as rumor for the time being.
Popular Portuguese fan-site DC da Depressão is reporting the following.
Nicholas Hoult is great as Lex Luthor (not the first time we've heard this); The VFX/CGI look a lot better than it did in the first trailer; There are some surprise villains; Rachel Brosnahan is "funny and adorable" as Lois Lane; There is quite a bit of humor, as well as more emotional moments; The tone is said to be "closer to the first Wonder Woman film and the first Guardians of the Galaxy."

The French Connection. Unforgiven. The Poseidon Adventure. Crimson Tide. Hoosiers. Gene Hackman is one of the most outstanding actors of this generation—or any generation. At the age of 95, he lived a remarkable life, one of acclaim and prestige. Regretfully, his death is clouded in mystery. His roles will be cherished for decades to come. His two Oscars will be on the cinephile's mantle forever.
Yet, among nerds, he will always be Lex Luthor.
Some nerds (and critics) thought Hackman's portrayal of Superman's criminal nemesis was part huckster and used car salesman. When it's that guy, Hollywood thought they were getting a more serious tone with grit and that signature gravely voice barking commands.
He was paired with Ned Beatty, another serious thespian. Yet, when faced against Christopher Reeve, they became Abbott and Costello.
And you know what? DC Comics wouldn't have had any other way. It worked splendidly.
Critics loved the performance.

Playing Superman is a big responsibility, as several well-known actors would tell you. Whether it was the legendary Christopher Reeves' performance that would set a new precedent for that man of tomorrow, Brandon Routh's evocation of that in Superman Returns, or Henry Cavill's more subdued performance in Zack Snyder's Dceu, there are plenty of examples of how each actor has chosen to embody such an iconic character. In the case of David Corenswet, who is set to make his debut as the character in James Gunn's Superman film, due for release in July 2025, the actor has one interesting approach to portraying the last son of Krypton.
In an interview with Esquire, Corenswet was asked if there were any times of uncertainty about playing a character as iconic as Superman. The actor replied, “In times of doubt, I’d ask myself, 'How would Harrison Ford say this?...

Gene Hackman, who unexpectedly died this week at the age of 95, was famous for his roles in tense dramas like The Conversation, The French Connection and Unforgiven. But the two-time Oscar winner also had a flair for comedy, a talent that made him the funniest Lex Luthor in the best Superman movies to date.
Sure, others have tried. Jesse Eisenberg did a jittery, Zuckerbergian version in Justice League. Creepy Kevin Spacey took a turn in Superman Returns. Michael Rosenbaum and, somehow, Jon Cryer have played the villain in Superman’s TV adventures. Nicolaus Holt will get his shot this summer when James Gunn’s Superman hits the big screen.
But none of those actors found the intersection of comedy, menace and madness quite like Hackman. In 1978’s Superman: The Movie, his Luthor hatches an outrageous scheme right out of the campy 1960s Batman series — blow up the West Coast along the San Andreas fault,...

Nowadays, Fox's "House M.D." almost feels like a relic of a different time in television history, in which a network show with over 20 episodes a year could still be essentially a prestige concoction, carried by smart, profound writing, heady themes, and ambitious character work, while still conforming enough to a cozy weekly formula to become a ratings hit -- one massive enough to cost Hugh Laurie his role in "Superman Returns," no less.
While some of the show's 177 episodes are so similar as to start blurring into each other in retrospect, many "House" episodes have stood the test of time as first-rate hours of television by any reasonable criteria -- installments in which Dr. Gregory House was not just one of the greatest detectives in TV history, but a catalyst for searching and creative storytelling that used medicine to reflect on the mysteries of the human soul.

Every great cop show needs that one villain who makes your blood boil, and The Rookie delivered big time with its most despicable bad guy. This wasn’t just your run-of-the-mill criminal; he was a racist, power-hungry nightmare who made life miserable for our favorite officers.
A still from The Rookie | Credits: Lionsgate Television
But here’s the kicker: the actor behind this perfectly played a-hole is actually a DC star. Watching him ooze arrogance and menace on The Rookie made it impossible to look away, even while hating his guts.

The Rookie didn’t need a masked supervillain — Brandon Routh’s Officer Doug Stanton was terrifying enough. Known for playing the charming Ray Palmer in the Arrowverse, Routh flipped the script in The Rookie Season 3, becoming the show’s most unsettling antagonist.

With three MCU movies opening this year, and The Avengers: Doomsdaystarting production in England in March, all eyes are turning to the next major franchise and phase, The X-Men. And with the discovery and introduction of adamantium in Captain America: Brave New World, fans are finally getting their first hints of Marvel's famous mutants. Rumors have been flying about who could be cast in different roles, and the latest is The Substance's Margaret Qualley might be starring as Rogue.
Take this rumor from Jeff Sneider with a grain or two of salt, but he's saying that Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are considering Qualley to take on the role of Rogue, who was famously played by Anna Paquin in the original Fox movies. It should be noted that Sneider isn't sure if she's the main actress Marvel is considering, or one of several.

Henry Cavill was a notable absentee among the former Superman actors who came together for a panel at Megacon Orlando. While fans speculated that Cavill’s absence could be due to his less-than-stellar exit from DC, one of these actors has revealed the real reason behind it. Tom Welling, who brought Superman to life in Smallville, shared that Cavill was busy with a shoot.

David Corenswet may be the new Clark Kent/Superman, but Krypto took the spotlight during Sunday’s Puppy Bowl, where his real-life inspiration helped show off a new look at Superman.
Superman director James Gunn made a special appearance alongside his dog, Ozu, during the Animal Planet Super Bowl show, reminding fans that his special pup helped inspire Superman’s best dog friend, Krypto, in this summer’s Superman movie.
“Krypto has all the powers of Superman and is as lovable and mischievous as many of the irresistible pups you’ll see today in this Puppy Bowl,” Gunn said with Ozu by his side. “We’re going to meet over 120 rescue pups who started off in shelters and are now flying to stardom as they tussle, triumph and get distracted over the course of the day.”

A celebration of Christopher Reeve's impact on the Superman character drew an unprecedented gathering of actors behind some of the Man of Steel's most notable performances at MegaCon Orlando on Feb. 8. The tribute brought together
Tyler Hoechlin (Superman & Lois), Brandon Routh (Superman Returns), Dean Cain (Lois & Clark), Tim Daly (Superman: The Animated Series), George Newbern (Justice League), and Tom Welling (Smallville) and successfully bridged the legacies of nearly five decades of Superman on screen.
The assembly is a small, but super sampling of Reeve's impact on every actor who has since donned Superman's cape. Each performer present at the MegaCon panel stepped into the role during a distinct chapter in Superman's screen presence, some even directly tethered to Reeve's canon.

The DC Legends of Tomorrow cast would all love to return one day, even if it's in a different universe.
Reassembling at a Megacon Orlando panel, Legends actor Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, and Matt Ryan were all asked what characters they'd like to play if James Gunn ever cast them in the Dcu timeline. In response, Lotz and Darvill selected Catwoman and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively, while Routh chose Superman, having previously played him in Superman Returns and reprised his role in Crisis on Infinite Earths alongside his Arrowverse performance as Ray Palmer/the Atom. Ryan, meanwhile, selected John Constantine, the role he played for nearly a decade across NBC's short-lived Constantine series, the Arrowverse, and multiple animated films, including the DC Animated Movie Universe's three-part Crisis adaptation.

Henry Cavill’s Superman replacement, David Corenswet, has appeared in quite a few interesting roles before his Dcu entry. One of these roles was in the Netflix political drama, House of Cards, which starred Kevin Spacey. By the time Corenswet made his only appearance in the penultimate episode, Spacey was fired from the show after his legal troubles.

James Gunn's Superman trailer included a beautiful tribute to John Williams' iconic theme, but I hope Gunn doesn't ignore another composer who has an important role in Superman's DC legacy. 1978's Superman: The Movie is arguably the birth of the superhero genre. Christopher Reeve's live-action version of Superman made viewers believe a man could fly, and the film is still seen as a landmark of cinematic spectacle. One of the film's most memorable aspects is its excellent score, created by Williams, adding to his legendary discography.
His theme is still synonymous with the hero almost 50 years later. It was reused in 2006's Superman Returns and an essential part of Superman's first trailer. However, it wasn't used in 2013's Man of Steel, as Zack Snyder's films in the Dceu timeline had a different tone than the Richard Donner Superman films. Hans Zimmer composed the score for Man of Steel,...

James Marsden's best movies and TV shows highlight his career of versatile projects and winning performances. The American actor began his career in the mid-1990s with small roles and bit parts before finding more success with notable parts in Gossip and Disturbing Behavior before finding his breakout role in one of the early superhero movie successes, X-Men. It began with the spark of a candle in 1941 related to the Max Fleischer Superman cartoons. Wait, a comic book genre?! No one was certain what to think about pages coming to life. The comic book genre has been under siege during "Awards Season" since 1978 when Christopher Reeve made the world believe a man could fly.
Recently, a different Bat signal had been emblazoned across Hollywood's sky, and it is solid gold. Can we stop hating on this genre now?
It probably won't happen as long as people like Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Roland Emmerich, and David Cronenberg are helming Hollywood. They're so influential and vociferous against the comic book genre that it tends to make the award bureaus reconsider a person acting in spandex really isn't "acting." As if cosplay doesn't involve imagination.
And so, hate continues against any visual entertainment from comic books and graphic novels.

Before James Gunn rebooted the DC film and movie slate with the Dcu, before there even was a Dceu and long before Stephen Amell’s Arrow kicked off the popular Arrowverse, the star of DC shows and movies was dwindling. The latest project at the time, Superman Returns, starring Brandon Routh, was a flop of epic proportions.
Though Routh lost out on future roles as the Man of Steel, he returned to DC as Ray Palmer - The Atom - on the Arrowverse shows Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, where he was a core cast member, along with his wife, Courtney Ford. Now that iconic couple has ended 17 years of marriage, though they admit the timing couldn't be worse.

The first Superman trailer reveals that David Corenswet's titular hero won't be depicted as an invincible god. The trailer opens with a beaten-up Superman bleeding in the snow, and then shows him getting berated by an angry crowd and struggling to fight multiple enemies. Corenswet's Superman also seems to have dips in motivation, as he appears to need Lois Lane's words of courage in order to return to the battlefield at some point in the movie.
The Dcu's Metropolis is clearly different from its Dceu counterpart. For instance, the Daily Planet's iconic globe decoration is back, and both the buildings and the pedestrians seen in the Superman trailer are brighter and more colorful. Previous DC movies like Zack Snyder's Man of Steel and Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy...

The upcoming 2025 Superman film has DC Comics fans looking up at the sky with hope and anticipation for the new shared universe helmed by James Gunn. Naturally, it has also reignited the fervor among those who did and did not like 2013's Man of Steel. The main critique is director Zack Snyder simply not understanding the character. But if any director is guilty of that, it's director Bryan Singer's 2006 Superman Returns. Of the two 21st Century big-screen iterations of Clark Kent, Singer's is the one that most fails to capture his essence.

Brandon Routh faced a daunting challenge when he was cast as Superman in Superman Returns in 2006. Taking up the mantle after Christopher Reeve—beloved by fans as the quintessential Superman—was no small feat. Reeve’s iconic portrayal ended tragically after a spinal injury and his passing in 2004, leaving the superhero’s legacy in limbo.
Stepping into such an enormous shadow, Routh not only had to deliver a compelling performance but also physically transform to meet the role’s demands. At 6’4”, Reeve naturally exuded a powerful presence, while Routh, though athletic, was relatively new to intense weightlifting. Determined to rise to the occasion, he committed to a rigorous training regimen, working with a personal trainer four days a week for six months before filming began.

Brandon Routh took on a massive challenge when he was cast as Superman in Superman Returns in 2006. He was stepping into the role after Christopher Reeve, who was widely celebrated as the perfect Superman. Reeve’s career as the iconic hero ended tragically due to a spinal injury, and after his passing in 2004, there was no Superman.
This left a big gap to fill, and Routh faced high expectations. Routh’s preparation for the role went far beyond acting. To embody Superman, he had to bulk up significantly and match Reeve’s towering physical presence.
At six foot four, Reeve had a naturally muscular build, while Routh, though athletic, was new to weightlifting. He worked with a personal trainer four days a week for six months before filming started, gaining about 20 to 25 pounds of muscle. He also changed his diet, focusing on protein-heavy foods like chicken and egg whites.

Brandon Routh had an enormous task ahead of him when he was cast to play Superman in 2006s Superman Returns, but he put a huge effort into training for the role. Routh was the first actor to take on the role of Superman, long before the Dcu, after Christopher Reeve's quadrilogy which concluded in 1987. Of course, considering Reeve was lauded as the perfect Superman, and his career as the iconic comic book hero was cut short due to a severe spinal injury, the role went unoccupied for a considerable period of time.
Reeve passed away in 2004, and with the world now without it's Superman, the search for a new man to don the cape began. Routh was eventually cast against a competitive lineup of hopeful actors, but the more impressive part of Routh's work on the role came before he appeared on the big screen, or even got in front of the cameras.

The wait has been long for James Gunn's first Superman trailer. Many wanted to see David Corenswet's Clark Kent, not just as a bumbling reporter in Metropolis, but as the new Man of Steel, and Gunn nailed the assignment.
The clip is DC's most viewed trailer, proving fans like what they have seen so far. Interestingly, there is a lot of homage to a disastrous DC project: Bryan Singer's Superman Returns. The latter movie's teaser trailer is something that clearly inspired Gunn's team at Warner Bros.

"The Batman" director Matt Reeves has chosen to keep his version of Gotham City, in which Robert Pattinson is Bruce Wayne, separate from the larger DC Universe -- which means that the Dcu's Wayne Manor is still in need of an occupant. Director Andy Muschietti's upcoming live-action movie "The Brave and the Bold" will see the Dark Knight in a way we've never seen him on the big screen before: as a father. Confirmed during Gunn's first announcement of the DC slate, the Batman in that world will be taking his estranged son, Damien Wayne, under his cape and fighting the criminals of Gotham as a heroic father-and-son team.
It's still early days for "The Brave and the Bold," which doesn't yet have a release date and has yet to cast its Batman. Plenty of actors have been considered for the role, or proposed by fans, over the years...

Did Paul Walker refuse to play Superman? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Yeah, I know—Superman. The Man of Steel. Imagine that: Paul Walker as Superman. Sounds wild, right?
But let’s rewind a bit. It’s the early 2000s, and DC was on a mission to reboot their favorite alien in spandex. Enter Superman Returns in 2006, with Brandon Routh in the lead. But before that, Walker was this close to grabbing the cape and tights, and he walked away.
According to I Am Paul Walker, the 2018 documentary that just aired on The CW, Walker’s manager, Matt Luber, spilled the tea about Walker’s “Nope” moment. When Paul tried on that iconic “S” symbol, he wasn’t feeling it. In fact, he reportedly said, “I’ve got an ‘S’ on, I got a cape, boots, tights…this is not me. I’m getting the f*** out of here. Gotta go. F*** you.

Did Will Smith reject a superman movie? ( Photo Credit – Flickr )
In the mid-2000s, Will Smith was offered the role in Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns. So why did he pass on donning the cape and flying high? Turns out, it wasn’t the whole “saving the world” thing that turned him off—it was all about messing with white heroes. “There is no way I’m playing Superman!” Smith recalls of his reaction when the script landed in his lap.
The reasoning: It all came down to his past experience with Wild Wild West. In the film, Smith played Jim West, a wild-west gunslinger with a twist. But that role didn’t exactly sit well with some, and the backlash was real. Smith, in his classic blunt fashion, summed it up: “You mess up white people’s heroes in Hollywood, and you’ll never work in this town again!

Writer/director Michael Dougherty rose up through the Hollywood ranks authoring the scripts for multiple major blockbusters. He co-wrote the screenplay to "X2: X-Men United" and "Superman Returns" (both of which were directed by the now-disgraced Bryan Singer), and proved his horror chops with "Urban Legends: Bloody Mary," a straight-to-video threequel to the oh-yeah-i-remember-that slasher franchise from the late 1990s. Dougherty's directorial debut, the horror anthology "Trick 'r Treat," saw a slow release in 2007, but became a Halloween standard almost immediately thereafter. The man knows how to terrify audiences. His most recent film was the big-budget monster movie "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," the third film in the U.S. MonsterVerse series.
Dougherty's best film, however, came in 2015 when he made "Krampus," a Christmas horror film that's just as much a holiday standard as "Trick 'r Treat," only for Christmas. It features one of the coolest, scariest monsters of...

Although superhero serials and TV shows had been around for decades prior, Richard Donner’s 1978 version of Superman marked the first major, studio-funded DC feature film in Hollywood. The film’s commercial and critical success led to Richard Lester’s acclaimed follow-up, Superman II, solidifying the late great Christopher Reeve as a cinematic symbol of truth, justice, and hope. Over 25 years later, the events of the ridiculous follow-ups, Superman III and Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, were bypassed by Bryan Singer to accommodate Superman Returns, arguably ranking among the finest cinematic showcases for Clark Kent to prove his protective might. Sure, the movie isn’t as fun-filled or enjoyable as a children’s superhero outing should be, but, as far as restoring the luster into Superman’s cape and proving the comic book hero’s box office viability, Superman Returns did its job. At least, that’s how most critics and general moviegoers felt.

The first trailer for James Gunn's upcoming Superman has confirmed that the highly-anticipated reboot will break a surprising DC movie pattern, revisiting an iconic location from DC Comics that we haven't seen properly on the big-screen in 18 years. Superman was first announced to be in development at the beginning of 2023, set to spearhead James Gunn and Peter Safran's new live-action DC Universe. David Corenswet showed how great his Man of Steel will be in a new trailer for Superman that revealed more about the 2025 movie's narrative.
One of the most exciting elements of Superman's first trailer was that we caught a glimpse of the vibrant new world that Gunn and Safran have created for their new franchise. Not only did we get shown notable locations such as the Daily Planet building and LuthorCorp, but the Superman trailer also provided a first-look at the Dcu's new Fortress of Solitude.

Since the Superman trailer dropped, the Man of Steel feels inescapable. Generating 250 million views on various platforms in one day, the trailer became the most watched trailer in DC and Warner Bros.' history. Every detail of the trailer has been combed over, and one fascinating element is the film's depiction of Superman's alter ego, Clark Kent. Actor David Corenswet's Clark Kent appears to be shy and a little clumsy, and director James Gunn has opted to give him curly hair to distinguish him from Superman's straight hair with a single curl. Now fans know what Corenswet Clark Kent might sound like, thanks to a behind-the-scenes video.

Superman fans are still rejoicing after the trailer for James Gunn's upcoming film premiered yesterday. However, some are still complaining about Gunn's casting of David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman. The trailer should have put concerns to rest, but the director's latest statements will probably help, because apparently, Corenswet’s presence reminded the director of Christopher Reeve, the original Hollywood star who played Superman in Richard Donner's versions of the superhero franchise.
After the trailer for 2025's revival of Superman dropped, there were many questions: Why did Superman bleed? Where's the missing note of John Williams' signature musical score? Will Krypto, the puppy, have a major role? However, per ComicBook's report, Gunn preferred to expand on how Corenswet reminded him of Christopher Reeve:
"The thing that connects him so much to Christopher Reeve is, he has a lot of deep training. Like, I've never worked in my...

James Gunn's hotly anticipated "Superman" (watch the first trailer) is still well over six months away from hitting theaters. That means we're currently at the stage where, as with any major summer movie tentpole this far out from arriving, studios tend to tease rather than give much of anything substantial away. Right now, you just want to get the film on moviegoers' radars with some eye-catching imagery, maybe a villain reveal, and then save the much more revealing official trailer for March or April.
Gunn's "Superman" ain't playin' that, though. I don't know if it's because Warner Bros. and DC Studios have been mostly taking it on the chin since Christopher Nolan concluded his Batman trilogy, or the fact that the last two standalone Superman movies -- "Superman Returns" and, to a lesser degree, "Man of Steel" -- have been commercial disappointments, but the two companies are in hard-sell mode eight months out.

Was Brendan Fraser Almost Cast In Superman Returns? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

As we’ve reported, the newly released Superman trailer offers a fresh perspective on Clark Kent, addressing a long-standing issue that previous films have overlooked. Fans have often criticized how implausible it seems that no one can recognize Superman and Clark Kent as the same person, given that the only difference is a pair of glasses and perhaps a slight change in posture.
It’s become a running joke—how obvious it is—yet the people of Metropolis never seem to catch on. This has always stood out as one of the more unrealistic aspects of Superman’s story, especially compared to other superheroes who go to great lengths to conceal their identities with masks or advanced disguises.
James Gunn’s take on Superman, however, introduces a subtle but significant change. In this version, Clark Kent sports a completely different hairstyle from Superman, creating a more believable distinction between the two personas.

Things are looking up indeed! After a week of build-up, the highly anticipated trailer for James Gunn’s Superman finally arrived, and all eyes are on the sky. As the first live-action installment of the Dcu, a lot is riding on Superman. Not only is an entire cinematic universe dependent on the success of this film, but Gunn must also cut through the world’s cynicism and deliver a take on the character whose cinematic depiction, for many audiences, hasn’t resonated since 1978.

For the Man of Steel himself, David Corenswet, Superman was about embracing the hero's supposed naïveté and exploring what that means for him as a superhero.

"A lot of people consider Superman to be a naive character, and it really is just a blindness to the little imperfections...

On Monday, James Gunn talked to select members of the press while showing off the epic first teaser trailer for DC Studios' Superman. As the filmmaker told Deadline, it was his goal from the start to show a different side of the Man of Tomorrow with this reboot.
Superman Returns rehashed the look and tone of movies released decades earlier and Man of Steel was an undeniably moody take on Kal-El. However, in Superman, we'll get to the root of who Clark Kent is.
"I think we’re seeing that from the beginning we’re seeing a little bit of a different side of Superman than what we’ve seen."

The new Superman movie trailer has just been released, and members of the cast spoke with ScreenRant to discuss their history with the DC Universe. Director James Gunn has recently spent time and effort making it clear that the core characters of the new film are Superman, Lois Lane, and Lex Luthor, making each of these performances paramount to the film's success. With that in mind, it is illuminating to understand how each of these performers have been influenced by Superman content in the past, and how it informs their performances.
Dcu Superman movie star David Corenswet - alongside Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult - spoke to ScreenRant and other members of the press at the Superman trailer screening and Q&a event about their first impressions of Superman. Corenswet noted that the hero has been an important and evolving part of popular culture, bigger than any single product for so many years.

It's difficult to overstate the impact of Richard Donner's 1978 blockbuster "Superman." Much has been written about how, without Donner's film and Christopher Reeve's Superman, we wouldn't have the modern blockbuster — all of which is true. But beyond the film's effect on Hollywood and the rise of blockbuster filmmaking, "Superman" was a truly special movie for so many other reasons.
Its innovative special effects actually fulfilled the movie's promise to make audiences "believe a man can fly," while Donner's respectful treatment of the source material seemed to transcend the comic book foundations of the film itself, resulting in a work that embodied the very values that Supes himself stood for: hope, justice, truth. "Superman" also proved every naysayer wrong, demonstrating that comic book material could make for successful Hollywood fare.
In the years since that original movie and its three sequels, we've had numerous cinematic iterations of the Man of Steel.

James Gunn reveals why he decided to give Superman his signature red trunks after nearly a decade of depictions that eschewed the accessory. Ever since Superman debuted in 1938, his costume has remained iconic. While the details have changed over the years, the core pieces tend to be a red cape, a blue jumpsuit with a big 'S' on the chest, and a pair of red trunks. Despite the outlandish nature of the character, the red trunks are seemingly a bridge too far for some, and with The New 52 in 2011, DC Comics ditched the iconic red trunks on Superman to make him feel more modern.
One of the questions many had about James Gunn's upcoming Superman when the movie was announced was whether it would include trunks or not, with the first official image of the character showcasing the classic piece of the costume. Ahead of the release of the new trailer for Superman,...

Speculation about when we'll see the first Superman trailer has been running wild on social media for months now. However, this week at last looks set to be all about the Man of Tomorrow as the first poster for the movie has just been released by DC Studios.
Shared as both a motion poster and traditional one-sheet, it shows David Corenswet's Superman taking flight surrounded by similar colours to those used on posters for 1978's Superman: The Movie.
Likely confirming that classic blockbuster will be a key source of inspiration for filmmaker James Gunn is the fact that we hear a reimagined version of John Williams' classic theme for this contemporary take on the iconic superhero.
It's unclear whether this is John Muphy's main theme for Superman in the reboot but it's hard to imagine anyone having an issue with that being used when it's become so synonymous with the character.
