Fast National ratings for Monday, June 2, 2014. Breaking through an early summer of weak ratings, Monday night actually offered many glimmers of hope for the five networks. At the top of the heap were ABC, which won overall with the rising "The Bachelorette," while Fox scored a narrow win among young viewers with building episodes of both "MasterChef" and "24: Live Another Day." But that wasn't the only good news. NBC's "American Ninja Warrior" got a good week-to-week bump and actually ranked as Monday's top show in the key demographic. The CW's impressively reliable "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" did good numbers in its summer premiere and boosted the return of the inexplicably renewed "Beauty and the Beast" to numbers that almost could explicate the renewal.  And "Mistresses" had an Ok return on ABC. On to the numbers... Among adults 18-49, Fox averaged a 1.8 rating for Monday night, tops in the key demographic.

Los Angeles, April 18: Singer John Legend has teamed up with "Step Up: All" screenwriter John Swetnam to executive produce his first feature film titled "Breaking Through".

Swetnam, who penned "Evidence" in 2013 and the upcoming Warner Bros. thriller "Into The Storm", will make his feature directorial debut with this film, the shooting of which is expected to begin this summer, reports deadline.com.

The project has been billed as a "documentary-style dance drama for the YouTube generation" as it will be the first feature film that will combine two sub-genres - dance movies and found footage in a plot.

In news that sounds as if it was ripped straight out of some kind of Movie Mad Libs, Deadline is reporting that R&B singer John Legend has teamed up with rising screenwriter star John Swetnam to make the world’s first found footage dance film. The film will be titled Breaking Through and is described as “a documentary-style dance drama for the YouTube generation.” In addition to producing the film alongside Legend, Swetnam will also pen the feature and helm it, making it his feature directorial debut. The 'All of Me' singer has teamed with Step Up: All In screenwriter John Swetnam on Breaking Through, reports Deadline.

The film is described as a "documentary-style dance drama for the YouTube generation".

Swetnam will make his directorial debut on the movie, which he will produce through his Mad Horse Films. Legend's Get Lifted Films is also backing the project.

Swetnam most recently wrote Evidence and Warner Bros's upcoming Into the Storm.

Breaking Through will begin casting with an eye on discovering new talent in the Step Up vein.

Casting is scheduled to start in the near future, with the filmmaker trying to discover new talent like the Step Up franchise has done in the past.

John Legend's Get Lifted Films is backing the film, with his Get Lifted partner Mike Jackson producing alongside Bb Films' Uri Singer, Fj Productions' Fabio Golombek and Perimeter Group's Luis Fragali. John Legend is serving as executive producer alongside Ty Stiklorious. Production is scheduled to begin sometime this summer.
