The television producer Christophe Izard was the primary creator of the children's series "L'île aux Enfants" (1975-1982), but grew tired of its premise. In 1982, Izard voluntarily ended the series and introduced "Le village dans les nuages" as its replacement. Part of the acting cast of the older series migrated to the replacement series.
