Fun in San Diego

A Glimpse of the San Diego Exposition (1915)

If you're reading this then more than likely you weren't at the San Diego Exposition in 1915 so this film gives you a great idea of some of the main bits of interest. This includes the celebration of the completion of the Panama Canal as well as a look at the Panama Film Company. The seven minute short ends with a group of people throwing seeds around a baby who is surrounded by birds. For the most part this is an entertaining short that at least lets people see some of the bigger events of the festival. Most people wouldn't be able to travel to the event so it's easy to see why Keystone would film it and show it. The IMDb credits Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle as making a quick appearance. There's a scene at the Panama Film Company where you can see him (or a man that looks like him). Film buffs as well as history buffs will be entertained by this one.
