Every filmmaker must make their first film!

This is not an objective review of Patrick's feature film debut, just a comment.

I believe that anyone who takes the risk and finishes an independent movie deserves a huge round of applause. The final reality for most indie filmmakers often flattens the very dreams that inspired the effort. The new understanding of just how much is truly required of you and your crew is staggering.

Therefore, to comment on production value, story line, or special effects is really not the issue. The issue here is to see how it stacks up against the tremendous obstacles that faced everyone who who put forth the effort of telling their story on the big screen.

If you have the courage, vision, & perseverance to actually complete your first feature and then continue to follow your dream, that is what is most important.

Detroit is lucky to have this independent filmmaker.

I saw an advanced screening of The Ugly One. The beginning is impressive. It combines exciting music, cinematography and an interesting legend. In the rest of the film, the director and actors deliver both suspense and comic relief. The production itself was huge, set in a steel factory, with lots of extras, some very cool fight scenes, and intense stunts. The film also features name actor, Wes Studi. As they continue to tweak the film it will get even better. Detroit is lucky to have this independent filmmaker.

    Great Job!

Patrick Moug's The Ugly One was a unique and fresh take on a much-used genre. Horror movies can be a dime-a-dozen, but this one combined a creepy vibe as well as an intelligent storyline. The movie had great production values and used varied and interesting locations, creating an atmosphere of a much bigger budget movie. I was impressed by the use of so many outdoor settings without the washed out look that normally comes with these kinds of shots. The night shots must have been very difficult to get as well. The use of digital film enhanced the professional feel of this movie. The plot was surprising and well thought out. The score was professional and well suited to the plot purposes.

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next from this talented filmmaker.

    Trash will always be trash!

This "film" was one of the hardest things I ever had to watch. It's not a "good" bad movie like "Troll 2" , it's just bad. You'll be counting down the seconds and looking at your phone constantly during the whole excruciating painfully boriginal movie.

WOW...I really enjoyed the "Ugly One...Your the man Moug!!

I hope this talented man is making more movies...Pat Moug and the "Ugly One" is one heck of a film... We need more "from the heart" film makers like Moug!!!! I believe the talent pool here, in Detroit, is totally untapped... Pat's vision and his movies need our support.... The effort, emotion and heart in the "Ugly One" is showed throughout the film. I really like the music and the way is flows throughout the movie, as well. I am impressed with Moug's ability to find actors like himself, who make movies for the love of the craft... Moug is helping Police and Firefighters. Moug is donating his film in an effort raise money for those families of our fallen HEROES!!! PLEASE...Support Moug and his visions. I do.
