It was a good little show. When it aired I was invested, after a while better shows were on, so I watched those instead. It's a good show it just didn't keep me engaged for too long.
When I found out that Kirby one of Nintendo's video game characters was going to have his own show, I thought "This will probably be dumb". However, I saw the show recently, and I was actually impressed. This show is pretty excellent, and has great characters (like Kirby, and his nemesis King Dedede), and it's pretty colorful too art wise. So check it out, you might like it.
I am not nor have I ever been a fan of anime. I never found anime appealing and I could not get myself to appreciate the designs of the characters in most anime. However, I have to say that Kirby: Right Back At Ya (English Dub) is one of the only few anime's that I enjoy.
First, the story of the show surprisingly has continuity and I found it fun to follow the adventures of Kirby and his friends. The story can be slow in some episodes but it's usually the same plot, where one of the antagonists, Kind Dedede, continues to buy monsters in order to get rid of Kirby, and it is up to Kirby to save the day. I should note that I have played many Nintendo games since I was a child, but I never got into any of the Kirby games. I am aware that the show is not canon to the games but it sure makes me want to play a Kirby game.
Next, the characters are very cute and enjoyable to watch. Each character, ranging from Kirby to Tiff/Tuff, and King Dedede have multiple characteristics that make them likable. No character is unlikable nor makes me annoyed, even for the villains. Additionally, while the show progresses, we are introduced to more characters, but it is easy to get to know them all and appreciate the flushing of each character.
Finally, the animation is cute and colorful, however, the animation can be very choppy at times. For example, the show uses both 2D and 3D animations. But the transitions are incredibly off putting, where one shot a character is in 2D, but in the next the character is in 3D. The 3D elements look nice for action scenes, but for general scenes without action, it's very noticeable and hard to watch.
Overall, it is a very cute show with nice action, charming characters, and an interesting story. Even if you have never played a Kirby game or if you're not a fan of gaming in general, it is still easy to enjoy the show as it does not tie into the games. Heck, I believe that watching the show will get viewers to want to play a Kirby game.

The japanese version is bland as heck (sorry, 4kids censored this review) , the dub has more style... but it also has kerry williams as tiff. She sounds like someone's comically exaggerated lisa simpson impression, PARTICULARLY of lisa when the show got bad and she became nothing more than a sopboxing witch who called james rolfe sexist for boycotting ghostbusters 2016. In fact, the only reason you can tell apart season 11- lisa simpson and tiff (voicewise, but the yellow skin and aforementioned soapbox addiction ARE suspiciously similar) is because one keeps ranting about dedede! However, ted lewis as dedede and escargoon, Eric stuart as meta knight, and DAN GREEN as customer service (nightmare's salesguy for that "used monster dealership" (as i call it) that's where dedede keeps getting the minibosses), not to mention kirbo himself, are a gem, and the reason to keep watching despite tiff's assault on your eardrums and the usual 4kids idiocy) also, don't look tiff up on deviantart, unless you're actually into/already used to body inflation and bad ocs. (wow. Suprised they didn't catch that one)
It's been so long since I watched this show. It's amazing how nostalgic it is. This is an anime based on the Kirby games. I admit to never having played the games, but I've seen them played plenty of times. It's notable in having the new characters Escargoon, Tiff, and Tuff. I admit it is a bit disappointing how Kirby doesn't talk.
Tiff and Tuff are usually the active ones. To be fair, they are pretty enjoyable characters. I like how the animation style switches with Escargoon, Dedede, and Kirby. I've seen so many bad video game adaptations this really does come out as one of the best. I like the goofy designs of everybody. It's fairly faithful to the franchise and enjoyable. ***1/2
