The plot is quite interesting but let's get real. The best feature about the movie are the hot, steamy sex scenes.

I didn't know that Ofelia Medina was that HOT back in the 70's. She probably had the best body in Mèxico. Also, a mature Isela Vega shows her sensual body.

The scenes where both women use skimpy, sexy outfits (mainly because of the heat) were really sexy moments. Both actresses know how to "turn on" the audience.

The story is somehow unrealistic but it happens. Discrimination is a common practice in Mèxico. Please, if you like this pseudo artistic movies filled with sensuality and unnecessary sex scenes, watch it. You won't regret.

I first saw this movie when I was nine years old. If this film was an American film it would be an R rated film. Foreign films have more nudity and are very Erotic. Isela Vega was a very sensual woman in her day and a good actress, the story line is interesting with some very erotic sex scenes. For its time it was risqué, if you are a fan of Latin actresses and old films and are not bothered by technicalities such as lighting its a good film to watch. I decided to view it again as an adult I would compare it to the The Big Doll House with Pam Grier

This story takes place somewhere in the humid tropics of Mexico. There is a quaint fishing village without cars or telephones. People mostly sit around listening to songs and drinking. Just to spice things up, in a nearby shack in the jungle live two beautiful women; their relationship is mother ("Lala", played by Isela Vega) and daughter ("Aminta", played by Ofelia Medina). The women catch fish by day and sell their catch in town. In their small fishing boat (also named "Aminta") they also make the occasional expedition for sharks. The men of the village know about the women but dare not get too close, since the mother is as tough as nails. And she's not afraid also to use her shotgun! One evening a wounded man ("Raúl", played by Julio Alemán) is lying by the doorstep of the shack. The women take in this handsome young stranger, who says he is a painter by profession. Although his visit is supposed to be temporary, both mother and daughter feel an intense attraction to him and want him to remain after he heals. This man also wants to stay, since both women go to sleep alone wearing very little! Maybe you can't blame them: It is clear from everyone's constant sweating that the humidity is real.

Not all is as it seems. Raúl sketches the women and makes overtures to each which causes terrible jealousy. (The shack is so small - could he really carry on like this?) Along the way, he learns about the terrible fate of the previous husband/father who lived in the shack. No surprise, here lies a sinister secret! The story has some good twists and turns. When you think that everything is figured out, something else comes along to give it another twist. I really did not know how it would end.

A comment on the lighting: There are a number of night scenes. They are just too dark. At first, I suspected that it was deliberate so as to keep the viewer in suspense. We hear voices but cannot see anything. After a while, I decided that it was not intentional, but rather not enough lights were used. After all, they really were shooting this in the tropics... I guess power plugs were in short supply!
