Although this movie was not what i expected, i still enjoyed it through and through. Intead of the in depth look at the world of dance music that it was said to be, i enjoyed watching a drunken loser climb his way to the top and become the popular women loving DJ that he turned into. The soundtrack was awesome and matched the movie were it needed to. I liked the way i the movie was done roughly, to me it gave it the extra edge that it needed and gave it more of a home job sort of feel to it which i thought added to the movie in a positive way.
I must admit that the cameos were a bit lost on me, DJ Hounddog was meant to be a poor excuse for a DJ and yet all his friends and people he meets were all top DJ's. That was a let down as it doesn't happen like that in the real world.
Sit back and enjoy this movie for what it is, something a bit different but something worthwhile.
on a side note, the cast were all top notch and suited the characters they played perfectly. (some where awesomely attractive too!!) cheers, and enjoy

Recently, I was lucky to be at the Sundance film festival for a German music and film magazine and came across this movie for test screening by chance - i really didn't expect too much, since the title made me think it was one of these rather ordinary Dj movies - HOWEVER, it turned out be a twisted story with relationchips between friends and lovers..and women who are lovers..lovers as friends.. Along with amazing, breathtaking shots of the Miami Club Culture! I really got the impression that everything was almost as 'real' as it can be in a movie and the actors totally knew the background of the local music and club scene of this 'tropical paradise'(compared to Germany) that seems to be filled with hot women. Everyone involved in the movie gave a very good performance, but the one who totally stood out of the crowd, and is the one to look out for, is main actor 'DJ Fysche'. She really was not only a highlight to watch with her extraordinary cool outfits, her fresh and independent look but last but not least with her great artistic performance in this movie! I am sure she will be getting more major movie roles after this outstanding performance - definitely worth to recommend. To make a long story short, go and watch the movie when you get the chance, since it really is a fresh and inspiring experience to do so!
i was very fortunate to catch a viewing of this movie, and i must say that i was highly impressed with this movie. the acting in it is great, especially that of the relatively unknown "fysche." she really lit up the screen, and if this is an inkling of the talent she has, the silver screen better get ready for the arrival of FYSCHE!
hopefully we see more of this SIREN! vive le fysche!!

I was expecting your average, been done before, hyped-up movie, but I did enjoy Hey DJ. It was different and enjoyable. I really enjoyed the eclectic cast. Every actor in the movie (and DJ), played their part well. I particularly enjoyed the smaller parts...the casting director did a great job from every angle, and hence the title of my message "Way to go Johnson" I took the name of one of my favourite characters! I thought the role (played by Terry Camilleri) was done very well and couldn't have been casted better. A great addition to a truly exceptional cast. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants an unusually entertaining and far out evening! Great film, my favourite parts being the plot and acting, but I did enjoy the entire movie! SEE THIS MOVIE!
I sneaked a peek at this last night, and had a ball. The international DJ scene is explored from the fish lens of a British transplant in South Beach. The lead character is a bit of a hound dog, but it's all in good fun, and the music is a gas. I liked the way the filmmakers incorporated fantasy and reality, and were unafraid to use sexuality shamelessly, without becoming a cheesy excuse for depicting soft-core porn. A lot of actual DJ's were introduced, but their personalities were not as fully explored as I would have enjoyed, but I got a taste of the scene. Jacobs is quite a character, and I hope to see him more often. HEY DJ rocks a medium that has become altogether too flaccid.
