All the people who said it's not a good series, are not right, IMHO. It's really good teenage TVseries, we can see there many problems which are important for teenagers, and we can see how to solve those problems. It's not a great immortal movie, but it didn't supposed to be a great movie, it's just telenovela, but in this genre it's great. I'm from Russia, we watch it from this winter, before it translated in Ukraine, and you'r not right saying it popular only in Israel, here it's really popular now. about actors'playing i can say the only one thing - maybe actors are not as great, as some of world famous stars, but i've seen many actors, world famous actors, playing worser than RebeldeWay's kids. And Camila Bordonaba i find very talented, the most talented of them all. I love this TVserie and i recommend it to everybody, especially teenagers.
Well, to all you future fans of it in the USA (I heard Warner Bros. bought the rights), here's a bit of what this Argentinian soap-opra is like: A couple of (hot) teenagers go to an elite boarding-school ("Ellite Way"), where they study arts and stuff. The four main characters are:
And they all get together, with the help of friends, to form a music group called "Erre Way" (they also released already two real CDs: "Rebelde Way" and "Tiempo").
And for my opinions:
- Mia (by Luisana Lopilato) - A rich snob, but deep down she likes helping people.
- Manuel (by Phelipe Colombo) - A poor Mexican there only to avenge his father's death.
- Marizza (by Camila Bordonova) - The rich luca daughter of a famous sexy super-model (Catherine Flop - super-model in real life too)
- Pablo (by Benjamin Rojas) - The son of the mayor, who as a father - sucks big time. He actually makes me mad.
And they all get together, with the help of friends, to form a music group called "Erre Way" (they also released already two real CDs: "Rebelde Way" and "Tiempo").
And for my opinions:
- Their acting isn't Edward Norton's, but fairly good.
- Phelipe and the preety girl who plays Luxan (a supporting character) are the best actors in the show in my opinion (and of course, all of the elders too). Benjamin isn't that bad either.
- Benjamin is considered very sexy in the eyes of many girls. I agree, but you got to hate his nose!
- Luisana is unquestionablly the hottest HUMAN-BEING in the world! The words of a girl!
- final note: I do NOT like this show at all, but many INTELLIGENT Israeli teenagers seem to DO like it. And they also spend a lot of money on concert-tickets and merchandise too. Go figure.
I am a Cris Morena fan since I can remember... When I was a kid I loved her TV series "Chiquititas" and followed it for its 7 years on the year, everyday at 6:00. It became a part of my childhood.. which is why, when I was a teenager and Rebelde Way came on, I did not hesitate to watch it.
Whatever criticism there might be on this show I cannot understand them. This is a great show in many aspects. The four main characters do a surprisingly good job as actors... they get better in each episodes and are incredibly funny. Everyone else in the cast does and awesome job, the young actors and the "older" ones.
The story is so original... Cris Morena is also well known for the songs she writes so including a band in the TV Show was an incredibly good idea. It is not surprising that with the ideas Cris Morena has her shows cannot help but be incredibly popular.
In my opinion though, (and I have watched all of her shows, to this day) Rebelde Way was her best one by far... It is about an elite class boarding school and it revolves around the lives of four main characters: Marizza (the rebel and outgoing daughter of a celebrity), Mia (the spoiled but good-hearted daughter of a fashion business man), Pablo (the popular but confused son of the governor) and Manuel (the Mexican tough guy only in Argentina out of revenge).
Throughout the show there are many important issues that are dealt with. Descrimination (to lower class), corruption, and most of all rebelling against injustices... It is all out being a rebel when it is necessary and this show does an awesome job in showing us how by also making us laugh, cry, and stay tuned for each episode that comes.
I think the show is one of the best ideas I have ever seen, great acting, and above all it knows perfectly well its audience and who it is targeted at. This, in my opinion, is incredibly important in a show.
I think everyone in their pre-teens and teens will be able to enjoy this show a lot...and it also has some very good music (which at first I wasn't sure about, but surprisingly it ends up being not bad)
I think the only thing left to say is that the show had a lot of well deserved success in many different countries. And for anyone who watched the show, they will understand why.

I am watching it again after almost 15 years since I first saw it, and I can't help but love it. Like every other great movie, watching it for the second time only makes you see some things you didn't pay attention to in the first run. I mean, I'm almost 30, but the feeling is the same. This is much more than a soap-opera, it's a depiction of the life as a teenager...but not only. Yes, it's exaggerated, but that's the beauty of it. When Mia is wondering why Joaquin doesn't notice her, even though "mi pelo es re lindo", or I hear Sonia screaming after her precious "Marizza, mi ciela", I can't help but clap, it's that good. I mean, the boobs may be fake, but by god those tears are real! :))
Don't even think about comparing this with the crap shows that copied it (Rebelde and what not). The devil is in the details. And this, dear teenagers of any age, is a masterpiece
I live in Dominican Republic and this series is HUGE here. I don't believe that what some people are saying about the series only being a hit in Isreal. The kids in Argentina also love this series and Rebelde Way have huge fans in Dominican Republic. I also don't believe that people only watch this show because of the HOT teenagers , but because this is a great show that keeps you wanting more. There are great actors in this series, one can be better than the others, like Maritza played by. This is an amazing show filled with love, hate, music, and more. I strongly recommend this show, but girls will be more fond of it.
