When the story begins, you are introduced to a husband and wife....and soon you realize they were unlikable jerks. When their neighbor above is dancing and making a racket, the husband hits the ceiling with a broom. When that doesn't work, the wife goes crazy...hitting the ceiling as hard as she can! Soon, a huge chunk of plaster falls down on her husband and the wife, not wanting to let an opportunity pass, contact the landlord to report the plaster...and blaming the landlord for this! Now, she is talking financial settlement for the accident she caused...and when the landlord sends a doctor over to examine the husband, things get a bit crazy.
The fact that the couple (especially the wife) are awful people often would make the short unlikable but here it works. Clever and unusual.

Orval Whitledge is trying to get a life insurance policy, and the doctor for the insurance company is coming over to examine him; if he is in perfect health, there's the policy. On the other hand, plaster from the ceiling fell on his head, and if they can convince the apartment owner's insurance doctor he's going to die, he and wife Clara Barry can collect $300. Can they keep them straight?
Well, it's a comedy, so if you think they can, you've never seen a farce before. In between, the two do a bit of their stage act; she was a singer, he was her piano player, and they do some slanging cross talk for a couple of minutes. That's the best part of this short.
