Premiering October 15 on Peacock, Anatomy of Lies reveals the rise and fall of Grey’s Anatomy star writer Elisabeth Finch, whose jaw-dropping lies fooled Hollywood for years and became fodder for many high-profile episodes of Grey’s Anatomy.
Told in three episodes that are 60 minutes each, the story is told by some of her closest contacts, many speaking for the first time.
Originally reported in the Vanity Fair article “Scene Stealer,” the docuseries reveals how Finch, a master of manipulation, saved her best fiction for her own life story and exploited the empathy of those around her.
Her final mark was trauma survivor Jennifer Beyer, who entrusted Finch with her deepest secrets. But as Beyer uncovers the web of lies that deceived Hollywood for years, she faces a daunting challenge: can she reclaim the narrative from a convincing storyteller who showed no signs of stopping?

The case of Elisabeth Finch was one that shocked the entertainment industry, and now a three-part docuseries will bring the tale to a wider audience.
On Tuesday, the streamer Peacock revealed that it is finalizing a three-part docuseries on the saga of the former Grey’s Anatomy writer and executive producer, whose harrowing story of bone cancer inspired at least one storyline on the ABC juggernaut until it was cast into doubt starting in 2022. Anatomy of Lies will chart “the rise and fall of Grey’s Anatomy star writer Elisabeth Finch, whose jaw-dropping lies fooled Hollywood for years,” Peacock stated in a press release.
Prior to 2022, Finch was known as a successful TV writer — she also worked for True Blood, No Ordinary Family and The Vampire Diaries — who had been open professionally and publicly about significant alleged personal struggles. When Danielle Cabral joined The Real Housewives of New Jersey for Season 13, she came in hot and went up against many of her fellow cast members.
However, she’s been vocal on the show for the past two seasons about a huge division in her family.
The series is no stranger to family drama, with Teresa Giudice and Joe Gorga being the poster children for that.
As her second season on the series comes to a close, fans are speaking out in droves about the Boujie Kidz owner’s use of family drama as a storyline.
The sticking point for viewers is that Danielle’s brother and father have not filmed for the series, so everything has been one-sided so far.
There has to be more than one side to continue speaking about family drama. Understandably, fans are finding it hard to remain invested.

Danielle Cabral entered Real Housewives of New Jersey with the confidence only a true Jersey girl could muster. Her confidence may be due, in part, to the fact that this is not her first foray into the world of reality TV. Even though Danielle is originally from Staten Island, New York, she moved to New Jersey before landing her role on Housewives with previous television appearances including an episode of the MTV series True Life in 2006. Before she was married, Danielle shared her Staten Island lifestyle as she pursued an acting career for the episode, and another follow-up episode in 2008. While she is technically a transplant from Staten Island, Danielle moved to the Garden State with her hot husband Nate Cabral when the couple started their family in 2012. The couple then appeared on the HGTV series Family Under Construction to share the renovation process of their family home in New...

MTV's groundbreaking reality TV shows like The Real World set the stage for the genre's popularity today. Shows like Teen Mom and The Challenge cemented MTV's reputation for authentic storytelling and riveting competitions. From Jersey Shore to True Life, MTV continues to produce reality TV content that resonates with a wide audience.
While reality TV has been one of the most rapidly growing genres in the last several decades overall, the reality TV genre wouldnt be as popular as it is without the influence and work of MTV. Throughout the last several years, reality TV has found entire networks, like Bravo, dedicated to unscripted content. MTV proved successful in the television game after premiering successful shows in the '90s like Beavis & Butthead, Daria, True Life, Total Request Live, and more. The 2000s for MTV were all about reality series as they attempted a trial-and-error lineup where some succeeded and became iconic to this day, and some never made it past the first season.

“When was the first time you heard the word ‘saccharine’?” singer Rachel Brown asks, sounding a bit like a tired Beat poet, on Water From Your Eyes’ jazzy song, “Remember Not My Name.” Like practically every lyric on the avant-pop duo’s Everyone’s Crushed – at least the ones that don’t read like free-associated stream of consciousness poetry – Brown’s question could be taken ironically.

“Experimental pop” is probably the most succinct descriptor for the music made by Brooklyn duo Water From Your Eyes. But it’s also a little bland, which is why singer/vocalist Rachel Brown follows it with the more expressive “dance punk, question mark?” and “art rock, shrug.” They also admit they do, unfortunately, have to hand it to the awful drunk guy they met in England who told them, “You sound like Sonic Youth and New Order fighting underwater.”
Instrumentalist/producer Nate Amos, meanwhile, has grown partial to “sandwich rock.

Danielle Cabral is new to The Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she's no stranger to reality television. Danielle is a "jerseylicious" children's clothing store owner who originally hails from Staten Island, New York. Danielle is joining the show with an ambition to heal the broken family dynamics that define Rhonj. Like other recent cast members, she's got her own family squabbles to mirror the epic saga of the Giudices versus the Gorgas.
Danielle joins Rhonj season 13 as a friend of Teresa. However, she wouldn't reveal anything specific about whom Teresa had given warnings about. While Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice, who Rhonj fans worry might leave, had reached a truce after Joe Giudice's prison sentence, the sister-in-laws are no longer lovey-dovey. Teresa has moved into her marriage bubble bliss, and she's once again at odds with Melissa and her brother Joe Gorga.

The Real Friends of WeHo premiered on January 20 as MTV's newest venture, but while the series was created to promote inclusivity, RuPaul's Drag Race fans (and the LGBTQ+ community) are less than impressed. When it comes to reality television, MTV has been a pioneer for over 30 years. The Real World became a global phenomenon in the early 1990s, for instance, while True Life showcased hundreds of gritty, emotional, and controversial subjects between 1998 and 2017. Although it took almost ten years and 14 seasons to secure, there was a sense of excitement when MTV acquired the rights to RuPaul's Drag Race season 15 from VH1, ahead of its January 6 premiere.

When MTV brought back the home-exploring docuseries Cribs, it also welcomed the return of its familiar voice for many past seasons, SuChin Pak. She has come a long way since, breaking new ground for representation and learning from each experience throughout her career. These days, viewers can not only hear her on Cribs or past episodes of True Life, but on a podcast, the journalist hosts with comedian, writer, and director Kulap Villysak called Add to Cart from Lemonada Media. Showtime is developing a half-hour dramedy based on Jacob Tobia’s memoir, Variety has learned exclusively.
Tobia is a non-binary Lgbtq rights activist, actor, producer, and author. Their memoir, “Sissy: A Coming-of-Gender Story,” was published earlier this year by Putnam Books at Penguin Random House. The series, currently titled “Sissy,” would follow Tobi Gibran, a non-binary college grad and full time gender weirdo from North Carolina. Tobi moves to New York City in search of queer utopia. Though they score a prestigious job at the Un, Tobi quickly learns that NYC is less “glittering trans paradise” and more “trash-filled hell with a side of street harassment.”
Tobia will co-write and co-executive produce the project, with Michael Lannan set to co-write in addition to serving as executive producer and showrunner. “Sissy” will be produced by Showtime and Legendary Television Studios.

We may not have seen the last of America's favorite losers just yet, as Beavis and Butt-head creator Mike Judge is teasing bringing them back in a new movie. Speaking at WarnerMedia's party for the Television Critics Association, Judge was asked about the status of a potential Beavis and Butt-head revival, as he's teased his desire to return to the show in the past. Now, Judge says Paramount is apparently interested in a Beavis and Butt-head Do America follow-up movie, and better yet, he already has something in mind for Beavis and Butt-Head 2. "They seem to be still interested in that," Judge says. "I've got some ideas. I think it would have to be something that makes it relevant today. I think I might've figured out a way to do that."
Beavis and Butt-head first premiered on the MTV network all the way back in 1993, becoming an instant hit.

With the burgeoning Golden Age of documentaries, top non-fiction talent has never been more in demand. After landing a big promotion at A&E that put her charge of series as well as television, Molly Thompson got snapped up by deep-pocketed Apple TV to run their documentary content; one of the Silicon Valley giant’s first big buys was upcoming documentary “Elephant Queen.” And now MTV Studios has hired ex-HBO Documentary Films president Sheila Nevins to launch MTV Documentary Films.
There’s competition for top documentary talent and Nevins knows how to get it. Even in the specialty film world, documentaries are about the only thing working these days as theatrical narrative films are looking less and less commercially viable.
At HBO, Nevins reigned atop of the documentary pyramid for decades, adapting to more and more competition and new technology. Before Nevins’ exit from HBO a year ago, where she...

Oh snap! Javi Marroquin clapped back at his former flame Kailyn Lowry after her shady tweet about why she married him on Aug. 10. Exclusive: Nxivm has been making headlines the past few weeks with the high-profile arrests of founder Keith Raniere and one of his top lieutenants, Smallville actress Allison Mack, on charges of sex trafficking as the so called self-help organization has been called by prosecutors a sex cult that has been keeping women as “slaves,” and branding them with Raniere’s initials.
One of those branded women is Canadian actress Sarah Edmondson who last fall became the first to speak out about the alleged abuse after a decade inside Nxivm along with her husband, Anthony Ames, a fellow actor and former Ivy-League Quarterback.
Edmondson and Ames are now slated to headline a documentary TV series. Set against the ongoing legal drama involving the leaders of Nxivm, the series will follow the duo as they, under the guidance of renowned cult expert and deprogrammer Rick Alan Ross, head of the Cult Education Institute,...

Do you think you know everything about Little Women: La star Terra Jolé? Well, think again!
It might seem like the reality star shared all the details of her life with the public over the last 15 years – first appearing on MTV’s True Life in 2002 -- but she’s revealing new secrets in her memoir, Fierce at Four Foot Two.

In fact, we left a lot of stories out,” Jolé shares with Et in an exclusive interview about the book, joking that she thought fans knew everything about her too. “There are tons and tons of stories that I have not shared with anyone.”
While she is used to being very open about her life on television, there’s a big difference with sharing her story in print. “There’s no editing. It's you. It's not like what a producer may interpret as you,” she explains...
