    Bad (but funny) Puppets

This is a really fun comedy with a really original idea behind it and definitely a very unique concept as well.... it is a half way house for criminal puppets run by a (human) man who is selfish but kind of a pushover.

The show is funny but meant for adults or 18+ audiences only, because these are not your typical puppets, some of them are hard core perverts and sexual deviates (there are a lot of sexual scenes and jokes) and some of them are cold blooded killers who have no problem with murdering people.

It's too bad this show is not still being made because it had real promise and was very funny.

One of the funniest new comedies in Canada

There are so many episodes that make me howl over the stories

that I wish I could pick the best ones , Rocko and Bill make for a strange pair that are beyond help but manage to play the victim and BS their way out of hard time just to drag Dan into their life of crime .

Canadians will notice the odd joke for Toronto or the Federal Government, and because the CBC axed a really good show by the Frantics that Dan was part of , the show takes shots at them and in the episode "Dan's Umbrella" the CBC is raked across the coals .

When Dan says that the CBC would never waste taxpayers money on useless venture , Rocko enters the room and gives Dan back his Tape of Friday-Night with Ralph Benmurgue , this show was a flop and most people wouldn't get the joke unless they knew the CBC's history for making shows people don't watch or axing good shows that they do watch.

    This show is awesome!!!!!!

This is the best and most original show i have seen ever in my life. Dan the main character and actor is the best and perfect for the roll he is playing and the puppets are all real funny and believable as characters in this show. The stories are all good but some of the guests are not very good actors but that's okay because they have great plot lines that push boundaries and some good guests to like Eugene Levy from S.C.T.V. I love this show and can't wait to see new episodes, it should be on for ever!!!!!!

I give this show 9 out of 10 stars because it only loses 1 star for lower production values and budget and because of the guest show sometimes aren't that good.

    Awesome

So totally unique and entertaining! Another great Canadian invention. A regular "Joe"(Dan) and a bunch of misfit delinquents (aka Puppets), all share residence at a half-way house. Its Dan's job to keep an eye on four 'menaces to society' and help them to rehabilitate. Bill, the homicidal dummy, Rocko the cigarette smoking dog, Buttons, the nympho teddy bear, and Cuddles the comfort doll. The five of them find themselves in all sorts of odd predicaments. Despite their homicidal, and often overtly perverse sexual tendencies, it's hard not to find them lovable.

I give this show a 10/10 simply because it provides good entertainment, without needing a huge budget, and exudes a Canadian flair that makes me proud.

    Excellent dark comedy

Well, I had to make a comment on this excellent show given the few that are here. It's a dark comedy starring Dan, proprietor of a halfway house and the puppets, all of which have done unpleasant things. Acting is very good. Puppets are played straight up... hard smoking, hard drinking, hard talking stuffed animals. The writing is excellent, touching and trying typical social boundaries in the first part of each episode and then riding on the chaos that ensues... usually with a sexy temptress along the way. No punches are pulled, but that does not leave me with a feeling of being insulted. If anything, challenged, awestruck and crying with laughter. Like any good puppet show, the puppets get away with much more than any human would and there is much to learn and laugh at in the experience. They're still making them as of March 2005, airing on weekends on the Comedy Network (Canada). Highly recommended and a welcome alternative to the mostly toned down comedy on the other Canadian networks.

Opening Narrator: Cuddles the comfort doll was created to help people with their problems... now he's the problem. Buttons the Bear lost a lucrative corporate sponsorship for reasons of moral turpitude. Bill the Ventriloquist Dummy has had 58 partners die in unlikely accidents. Rocko the Dog was a sidekick in a children's TV show until one day he snapped! Prison didn't help! And now in one last desperate attempt at rehabilitation, they've been placed in a half-way house. A home for Puppets Who Kill!
