stuck has become a cult movie on the internet with the 4-minute sex scene having been viewed over 30,000 times. very intense sex scene involving amanda tapping who is better known as a warrior-soldier(sam carter on stargate sg1). quite a departure from all other roles she has done except eva in "the void".
this movie is a keeper mainly because of its rarity in amanda's body of work(pardon the pun). she must do more of this kind of roles as that great body has been under cover for so long (the only other time it was on display was in a femme fatale magazine spread a few years back-her exposure in "the void" was by a body double).

I saw a couple of clips of this on Youtube while searching for more information about Amanda Tapping, who I loved on Stargate. Boy, I wish I had never found these film clips - they were utterly horrible. My image of Ms. Tapping was destroyed. Watching this even ruined my opinion of Samantha Carter. I can never enjoy another Stargate episode. Ms. Tapping was vulgar, foul-mouthed and disgusting. Not to mention this had to be the most boring movie ever. Four people "Stuck" on an elevator for the whole movie. Why, oh why, oh why did you do this Ms. Tapping. Another actress falls into the garbage dump.
An excellent piece of drama, which shows the extremes of the human psyche in all it's glory. J.R. Bourne and Amanda Tapping gave particularly good performances as the not-so-average couple. Intense and riveting, I highly recommend it!
You have to see this cult classic. The situation in the elevator is almost surreal and you should watch with an open mind. Could this actually happen? If it was me, I would now have guide to go by.
People are shocked because Amanda Tapping and JR Bourne play vastly different roles in Stuck than they did in SG-1.
THAT WAS THE WHOLE POINT.
It was filmed either during or right after SG-1 season 5. At that point Michael Shanks had decided to leave the show, Rick Anderson was probably easing himself out of the picture, and Showtime had either not yet renewed the show for season 6, or had just done so...but only for the one season.
Amanda and her husband had relocated to Vancouver. So if SG-1 got cancelled, which was pretty much expected each season after 4, her career could founder.
She was wise enough to put another couple irons in the fire, just in case. She was already getting typecast as the brainiac scientist or yuppie professional, so she needed to show her versatility as an actress. Liz is about as far away from Samantha as you can get.
Stuck is more like a 1-act play that happened to be filmed, rather than a motion picture, so that was a plus if she needed to pick up stage work as well.
Yes, their characters are shocking. Yes, there are a lot of real people with similar backstories. They don't show you all that and it's not pleasant, but it happens.
Kudos to Amanda, JR, Fred, Courtney and the crew for being brave enough to show some reality we all wish was never there.
And be honest...isn't it great that Sam and Martouf finally hooked up?
