This was a made for Disney Channel special that was later released to video. Written by "Mickey Mouse Club" staff writers Alan Silberberg and Jeff Zimmer, this special combined animation of Sebastian the Crab from "The Little Mermaid" with live action footage of Samuel Wright singing and entertaining at Disenyworld. The blend makes for an engaging half hour, especially for fans of Samuel Wright.
No new animation was created for this show. Instead existing animation of Sebastian from "Mermaid" was taken, the backgrounds were dropped out and the writers found new words that fit in Sebastian's mouth to tell their story.
Wright was a delightful and entertaining performer. It is unfortunate he left us so soon. This special was followed by another, less successful special that was not nearly as well written.
