    Bring out Bosco on DVD

Wow this programme was my favourite as a kid. Watched it in the 80's at 2:30 on RTE2 if I remember correctly?? I loved when Bosco would go into his/her room in his/her box. It was so exciting. And the plonksters were the best. But the two tongue twisters who necks grew were hilarious. I never noticed as a kid but when they went through the magic door, they always seemed to end up in Dublin Zoo - the originality of it all. RTE should bring all the episodes out on DVD. I know I'd definitely buy it and I'm sure there's plenty of people my age who would too.

Does anybody know if Bosco was male or female? Nobody seems to be quite clear on that??

I cant believe this is here

I'm probably the only person ever to have looked at this page so I'm probably writing to myself here. I cant believe there is a listing for this show,I used to watch this as a toddler growing up in Ireland and had a T shirt of it and everything! I remember being particularly scared of the magic dancing shoes episode and what Bosco looked like but thats about it! Where can I find pics or episodes? Does anyone know?? Am I on my own here???

    I used to love this

I'd watch this is if was still on today. Even though it was very simple it was thoroughly charming and not patronisingly stupid like more recent attempts at children's tv in Ireland. If anyone from RTE reads this cut that waste of space dumbed down Barney clone The Morbegs and commission a new series or show the old ones please!!!!!!

    you're not alone

This programme still gets loads of slagging from the likes of Colin Murphy on The Blizzard Of Odd and lame comedians on this side of the Irish Sea, yet it was a brilliant, simply and entertaining show which kept the under-10s usefully occupied in the early afternoons of the 1980s. I only came to it at the relatively old age of six when my family moved to Ireland and it took a while for it to grow on me but I became hooked. Kind of like my relationship with Liga. What I want to know is: what was the story with Bosco? Were the presenters his guardians? Why had his parents abandoned him? Was it because of his red hair? Those animated inserts could be inspired. Gregory Grainneog. The McSpuds. Please, RTE, bring it back
