When David Got Tired of GLOW

After David McLaine was losing control of the comedy/variety show/wrestling program Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, he headed back to Indianapolis and created POWW. He also managed to lure many of the stars from GLOW away as well. POWW was more structured around building a serious product, rather than the (unfunny) sitcom GLOW was. He also changed many of the names of the stars that came with him to POWW (Tina Ferrari became Nina, Matilda The Hun became Queen Kong, Farmer's Daughter became Brandi Mae, etc.). POWW tried very hard to become a gamer in the wrestling business, but not even wrestling journalists took it seriously. McLaine even tried to align himself with the AWA around 1989 to get national exposure, but that didn't help. I don't know what happened, but the next 'season', McLaine was gone. He was replaced by two announcers (one was a Marv Albert wannabe), and more notable names like Madusa Micelli and Luna Vachon were included as well. It didn't help as POWW went off the air after that season. I think the reason why was because people just lost interest. After POWW, McLaine was successful in creating a roller hockey league.
