    Very disappointing

I got this on Gameboy Advance when it first came out, and back then the graphics were impressive, but as a follow-up to the essential gamer's Mario Kart 64, it was a rather large let-down. It's just not as addictive, fun and immersing as the original and tries too hard to impress with its graphics rather than create a fun experience.

The levels are not the best but the real flaw is in the racing itself -- the controls aren't the easiest to master, the racing karts are all annoying and the characters aren't as unique (in terms of special abilities and so on and so forth) as they are in Mario Kart 64.

I must say this is fun as far as most Advance games go and it's not as bad as that awful Aliens Thanantos Encounters game. But it's still not the best and not nearly as good as the original, which is a classic in my book.

    A good time, for sure.

As far as having Mario Kart in your pocket goes, it doesn't get much better than Mario Kart: Super Circuit. The battle mode is pretty flawed but the rest of the game is great.

    Decent Game

While the game has 40 courses, there is a lot of flaws with the game such as the Battle Mode, which seems identical to Super Mario Kart.

    • Trivia
When four players each have a copy of the game, bonus features and new modes of play become available.
    • Goofs
The characters' "speed" in their stats is actually their acceleration. The game's manual depicts Bowser's catchphrase as "There's nobody faster!", indicating that he has in fact the highest top speed of all the characters, despite what the stats say. So technically, their "weight" is what contributes to their actual top speed in the game.

      Mario: Yeah! A-ha, ha-ha!

    • Alternate versions
In Japan, this game is known as Mario Kart Advance - and in reference to this game being solely for the Game Boy Advance. However, it is known internationally as Mario Kart: Super Circuit, due to having more advanced courses for a 2D Mario Kart game.
