Lorde Admits to Watching Infamous Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee Sex Tape for Some Reason
Image
Reading Time: 4 minutes

Lorde is getting heat for watching the infamous Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee sex tape.

And to be honest? The criticism is not unreasonable.

In the past, she has at times come across as somewhat judgmental about sexuality. Years ago, for example, she condemned a Selena Gomez...

Canadian Born Pamela Anderson Gives Shoutout To Universal Healthcare After Father’s Cancer Scare
Image
Pamela Anderson, who was back on screen and all over the awards circuit last year with Gia Coppola’s film The Last Showgirl, said today that “vanity is a prison” as she accepted a Muse Award at New York Women in Film & Television’s 45th annual luncheon ceremony, in her now signature no-makeup look.

The Canadian-born actress opened her remarks with nod to “universal, free and fair healthcare” after noting that her father had just undergone cancer surgery. It went “smoothly and he had all the aftercare he needed,” said Anderson, who has dual Canadian and U.S. citizenship. She mentioned it because her appearance at the event, at Cipriani midtown, had been touch and go given his situation. She thanked “a blessed and generous Canadian health care system.”

She left it there. (U.S.-Canada relations are at a low due to Trump administration tariffs.)

On her move to...

10 Funniest Leslie Nielsen Movies, Ranked
Image
After leading a mixed career as a dramatic actor, Leslie Nielsen experienced one of the greatest career shifts in Hollywood when he reinvented himself as a comedy star, beginning in 1980's Airplane!. Soon after, the actor took on a variety of roles in some of the funniest movies of the next two decades, from police parodies to superhero spoofs. As a result, he has remained one of the most beloved comedy actors of the era, particularly for his deadpan performances.

While his comedy career had its share of hits and misses, Leslie Nielsen always made sure to be the most memorable part of his projects, even if he didn't have a leading role. Under comedy directors like Jim Abrahams, David & Jerry Zucker and Mel Brooks, Nielsen gave audiences the sillier side of humor. While his films might be seen as too low-brow for some viewers, others continue to embrace what...

Pamela Anderson Isn't Happy About Hulu's 'Pam & Tommy' Miniseries
Image
Pamela Anderson, the actor mostly famous for giving life to C.J. Parker on the TV drama Baywatch whose career is going through a renaissance of sorts lately, has a bone to pick with the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy. The show, which portrays Anderson and Tommy Lee's whirlwind romance and the theft and release of their sex tape, doesn't have Pamela's approval. In fact, she calls it "hurtful."

Per the report by CinemaBlend, the actor of films like Scary Movie 3, Barb Wire, and Borat, appeared on the radio show Andy Cohen Live, where she spoke about her leading part in The Last Showgirl and answered questions about the Hulu miniseries Pam & Tommy as well. While many would have thought that showrunners and writers would involved Anderson, the actor actually wasn't involved at all, and she isn't quite happy with the miniseries' depiction of the event that...

Macy Gray Branded “Sore Loser” After Storming Off Stage In ITV’s ‘The Masked Singer’
Image
US singer Macy Gray was branded a “sore loser” by TV viewers Saturday evening after she stormed off stage during her unveiling in The Masked Singer.

Gray – disguised as ‘Toad in the Hole’ – lost out in the elimination round of the competition in the UK version of the hit show. The audience had voted to save other artists, which meant she had to go head-to-head with ‘Bear’ in a sing-off. When the judges opted to save her rival, ‘Toad’ suddenly turned and walked off stage.

She was persuaded to return moments later when she revealed her identity – as guessed by two of the British judges – but then gave only one-word answers to struggling host Joel Dommett.

Gray’s behaviour was greeted by viewers with comments of “sore loser” on social media.

The Sun newspaper reported Sunday that the filming of the show was thrown into chaos, with producers left scrambling...

Pamela Anderson's New Movie Is An Incredible Career First On Rotten Tomatoes After 33 Years
Image
Pamela Anderson’s widely acclaimed new drama movie, The Last Showgirl, is the first movie of her entire 33-year acting career to earn a “fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes. Directed by Francis Ford Coppola’s granddaughter Gia Coppola, The Last Showgirl stars Anderson as a veteran showgirl who has to plan for her future when her long-running Las Vegas show is abruptly canceled after 30 years. The Last Showgirl has earned Anderson her first ever Golden Globe nomination (and first nomination for a major acting award) for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.

The Last Showgirl has been hailed as a comeback for Anderson. She’s a screen legend going back to her days as C.J. Parker on Baywatch, but it’s been years since she had a significant film role. She had a cameo in the 2017 Baywatch movie, but outside of that, she hasn’t been in a big...

Scary Movie 6 Update Confirms One Horror Icon Is Returning
Image
Dave Sheridan has confirmed the return of a legendary horror icon for Scary Movie 6. The successful film series began with Scary Movie in 2000, a comedy-horror that parodied iconic slasher and horror movies from years past. A box office success, the movie earned $278 million against its production budget of $19 million and spawned four sequels, the latest of which was 2013's Scary Movie 5. The Scary Movie reboot is set for a 2025 release, with some of the franchise's legacy characters expected to return.

While speaking with YouTuber Crazydog500 (via Collider), Sheridan revealed that the legendary Ghostface is confirmed to be returning to the Scary Movie franchise. Sheridan portrayed the character in the original movie and continues by admitting that the only detail he can confirm about the upcoming Scary Movie 6 is the return of Ghostface. Scary Movie 6 Now Only Needs 1 More Thing For A Proper Reboot
Image
Scary Movie 6 is officially confirmed to happen, and, luckily, it has the Wayans brothers back as creators, so now the project only needs one more thing to be a proper reboot. During the peak of the revival of slasher movies in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Wayans brothers Keenen Ivory, Shawn, and Marlon decided to give these a comedic twist in the movie simply titled Scary Movie. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Scary Movie parodied films and TV shows from the 1990s (mostly horror ones) in a story that follows a group of teenagers who accidentally run a man over.

Cindy (Anna Faris), her boyfriend Bobby (Jon Abrahams), Brenda (Regina Hall), Ray (Shawn Wayans), Greg (Lochlyn Munro), and Buffy (Shannon Elizabeth) dump the body in a lake, promising to never tell anyone. However, a year later, they begin to be haunted by a killer wearing the Ghostface costume.

Scary Movie 6 to Feature Return of the Wayans Brothers
Image
If Miramax and Paramount Pictures wanted to get fans interested in the Scary Movie franchise again, this was the exact way to do it. After being ousted from the franchise after 2001's Scary Movie 2, The Wayans Brothers are returning to the series they created for the first time in over twenty years. This represents a full-circle moment for them, who will now get to resurrect the brand for a new generation, following how dirty they were treated once the franchise changed hands because of the Weinstein brothers and Dimension Films.

Per Deadline, Miramax and Paramount Pictures are spearheading the new Scary Movie, first announced at CinemaCon, with The Wayans brothers being brought back to help craft the new film's original screenplay. The project is expected to begin shooting next year, and a full theatrical release is planned for the film. The Wayans brothers will also be getting a screenwriting help from Rick Alvarez,...

Marlon Wayans Explains How the Weinsteins Stole Scary Movie 3
Image
Back in 2000, director Keenan Ivory Wayans, with a great writing assist from his brothers Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans, launched Scary Movie to great financial success. The film was a spoof of the popular horror films that emerged during the late '90s, such as Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, and the response was overwhelmingly positive so much so that a sequel was quickly released just a year later. When Scary Movie 3 came to fruition, fans were surprised to learn that the Wayans Brothers were out of the franchise, replaced by director David Zucker and his team. Now, all these years later, Marlon Wayans is revealing how the franchise was stolen from him and his brothers, and how the studio used their pitch for the third film anyway.

During an appearance on Shannon Sharpe's podcast Club Shay Shay, Marlon Wayans revealed that Harvey and...

Pamela Anderson revealed her reaction to reading the script for The Last Showgirl, her upcoming film, which has generated a great deal of Oscar buzz. Marlon Wayans Addresses Scary Movie Series Flopping After Wayans Brothers' Exit
Image
Marlon Wayans doesn't appear to be surprise that the Scary Movie installments started to falter without the Wayans Brothers' involvement. He also sees incarcerated producer Harvey Weinstein's fall from grace as "God's revenge".

Wayans opened up about what happened with the Wayans Brothers and the Scary Movie series in a new interview for the Club Shay Shay podcast. Wayans confirmed the suggestion that the Wayans weren't given a great deal to start with for the first film, though he noted, "I think in Hollywood, you always get crappy deals." Because of that movie's success, however, the deal was a bit sweeter for the famous brothers with Scary Movie 2.

Marlon Wayans Says Harvey Weinstein’s Demise Felt Like “God’s Revenge” After ‘Scary Movie’ Fallout
Image
Marlon Wayans said he should have sued Harvey Weinstein for stealing his family’s film ideas, namely the Scary Movie franchise, but that the infamous producer’s eventual downfall felt like “god’s revenge.”

Scary Movie began as a 2000 comedy-horror film written by Wayans and his brother Shawn, directed by his brother Keenan, and produced by Harvey Weinstein’s Miramax. The movie went on to spawn four more films

During an appearance on Club Shay Shay on Wednesday, Wayans said that Miramax gave his family a “crappy” deal for the first installment, which ultimately led to the downfall of their relationship as the sequels progressed; by the time of Scary Movie 3, Miramax hired the Zucker brothers to direct the film based on ideas from the Wayans brothers. On Wednesday, Wayans said the company did this without their knowledge.

“We go on, made our money. White Chicks made another classic.

Marlon Wayans Blasts the Weinsteins for Stealing His ‘Scary Movie 3’ Ideas
Image
While there is certainly no shortage of reasons to hate Harvey and Bob Weinstein, you can add “the way they treated the Wayans family” to the staggeringly long list.

It’s easy to forget just how wildly popular the first entry in the long-running Scary Movie franchise was. Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, 2000’s Scary Movie made a whopping $278 million at the worldwide box office. To put that in perspective, Scream, the movie it was directly parodying, only made $173 million. And the Wayans’ Scary Movie 2 was also a big hit, even without that cameo from Marlon Brandon.

Despite these achievements, Ivory Wayans, as well as his brothers and co-writers Shawn Wayans and Marlon Wayans, weren’t a part of Scary Movie 3. Why? Marlon has previously bemoaned the “evil” and “disrespectful” Weinsteins, whose company produced the Scary Movie films. Now he’s provided even more details about what happened while...

Zo Kravitz's directorial debut wasn't always titled Blink Twice. The actor-turned-first-time-director recently opened up about why the movie was originally called Pussy Island.

Speaking with Collider, Kravitz who also co-wrote the movie with E.T. Feigenbaum shared that Blink Twice was originally titled Pussy Island to further drive home the fact that the movie is about "taking back power specifically that word and what we've come to feel when we hear that word and wanting to really explore how absurd it is that women are asked to forget and pretend and smile through pain and speak with our eyes because we can't say it out loud and really wanting to highlight how insane that is and tiring and fucked up."

Based on Leonie Swann’s international bestseller, the film follows George Hardy (Jackman), “a shepherd who loves his sheep and raises them only for their wool. When George is found dead under mysterious circumstances, the sheep realize at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it. ‘A Haunted House’ and the Death of the Horror Spoof Movie
Image
Due to a complex series of anthropological mishaps, the Wayans Brothers are a huge deal in Brazil. Around these parts, White Chicks is considered a national treasure by a lot of people, so it stands to reason that Brazilian audiences would continue to accompany the Wayans’ comedic output long after North America had stopped taking them seriously as comedic titans.

This is the only reason why I originally watched Michael Tiddes and Marlon Wayans’ 2013 horror spoof A Haunted House – appropriately known as “Paranormal Inactivity” in South America – despite having abandoned this kind of movie shortly after the excellent Scary Movie 3. However, to my complete and utter amazement, I found myself mostly enjoying this unhinged parody of Found Footage films almost as much as the iconic spoofs that spear-headed the genre during the 2000s. And with Paramount having recently announced a reboot of the Scary Movie franchise, I think this...

Pamela Anderson to Star Opposite Liam Neeson in ‘Naked Gun’ Remake
Pamela Anderson is dressing up for Naked Gun.

The actor has signed on to star opposite Liam Neeson in Paramount Pictures’ untitled remake of Naked Gun, based on the crime spoof comedies that were released in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Akiva Schaffer is directing the comedy, which has a script by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand and Schaffer. The trio were behind the popular and Emmy-winning Disney+ movie Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers.

The original movie, written and directed by Jerry Zucker, Jim Abrahams and David Zucker and based on their television series Police Squad! that lasted only six episodes, spoofed the tropes of police shows and films that had ingrained themselves into audience’s minds over the decades. It centered on an inept and clueless detective named Frank Drebin, played by Leslie Nielsen, who still somehow managed to solve the crime and save the day.

A Scary Movie Reboot Won't Work Unless These 2 Characters Return
Image
Cindy & Brenda must return in the Scary Movie reboot to ensure its success. Legacy sequels require characters from the original movie(s), and Cindy & Brenda fit the trend. Anna Faris & Regina Hall are open to returning to Scary Movie if the conditions are right.

The Scary Movie saga is getting a reboot, but the only way it can work is by bringing two key characters back. The film industry is defined by trends, and one that keeps growing strong, especially in the horror genre, is reboots/legacy sequels. Some of the most popular (and profitable) horror franchises have been rebooted in recent years through legacy sequels, though some more successful than others, and now joining this trend is the comedy horror saga Scary Movie.

Scary Movie kicked off in 2000 with the movie of the same name, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans. Scary Movie arrived during the peak of slasher movies,...

Charlie Sheen, Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, Sarah Hyland, Ashley Tisdale, Katt Williams, and Katrina Bowden in Scary Movie 5 (2013)
Scary Movie 6 is moving ahead
Charlie Sheen, Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson, Sarah Hyland, Ashley Tisdale, Katt Williams, and Katrina Bowden in Scary Movie 5 (2013)
Over ten years since the forgettable Scary Movie 5, we’re now getting Scary Movie 6, which is arriving in 2025. More here.

Infamously taking the original title intended for the first Scream film, the spoof Scary Movie arrived in cinemas all the way back in the summer of 2000, and promptly outgrossed the film that it was basically taking the piss out of. Along with its first sequel, that arrived a year later, it was directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans, and the modestly-costed films returned sizeable profits.

Not that they were much cop after the first film. David Zucker took over for Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4, in 2003 and 2006 respectively, and both in truth veer on the ‘best forgotten’ side. It took seven more years before we got Scary Movie 5, with Malcolm D Lee this time directing, and the quality of that film seemed to have driven the franchise into the ground for good.

Scary Movie 6 coming in 2025 from Paramount and Miramax
Image
Eleven years have gone by since the release of a new entry in the Scary Movie horror parody series – but the franchise isn’t going to remain dormant for much longer. Deadline reports that the Miramax label at Paramount, which is now operating under new boss Jonathan Glickman, has given the greenlight to a new Scary Movie sequel, with the plan being to get the film into theatres sometime in 2025. If any writers or a director are attached to the project, they weren’t named in this announcement.

Directed by In Living Color creator Keenen Ivory Wayans from a screenplay written by a bunch of people, the first Scary Movie was released by Dimension Films back in 2000. Scary Movie 2 was released in 2001, and the Wayans remained at the head of the creative team for that one.
