Inside the Labyrinth: The Making of 'The Silence of the Lambs'

It's a good documentary in general, I would say it's quite short, but not bad in general, I don't think there's any point in saying anything, everything has been said for me by the director, producer, cameraman and actors, especially about Hannibal's image and everything connected with it, I would only add that his image is not so much reminiscent of really real killers, as much as he himself lets this image through his prism, which makes it more individual, but, I think, this is more due to his charisma, although the worldview of the character also plays not the least role in this image, especially nothing new can hardly be learned, except, of course, information about serial killers who influenced the image of Hannibal, and Buffalo Bill.

Defenitly the highlight of the region 2 Silence of the Lambs DVD. 10 years on and we go back to see how he greatest thriller of all time was made and its probably one of the most insightful documentaries on DVD. Most DVDs have 20 minutes featurettes but this hour long look at how and why actors were cast, how props were conceived (Lecter's mask) and just how in depth the research was to make this film as realistic as possible. The only problem is it was made after Jodie Foster and Jonathan Demme decided to pass on Hannibal so they are noticeably absent in this feature. Jodie appears once in some news reel footage and you wish she was there to reflect on the role that made her a household name. The spooky thing is they talk about Demme as if he was dead! Just the way he is talked about in the past tense and how images of him are presented. I had to check IMDB just to make sure! A great documentary that really lets you inside the mind of those who made silence of the lambs.
