    thankfully a short

Although this was supposed to be a comedy, the writing was sophomoric and the concept lacked originality - kind of one of those urban legend type rip-offs. The audience seemed to be a little confused as to whether they had heard a punch line. The accent of the maintenance man was confusing - from what nationality was he supposed to be depicting? The shots seemed to linger too long between scenes, not cutting out quick enough. The sound effects seemed to be overdone, especially in the scene with the malfunctioning copier. The main character was lovable however and did a good job given the script and you had to love the narcissistic boss. Overall, it was a good idea that it was shown as part of a collection of shorts or it would have had some walkouts. Advise to those responsible, call THE NUMBER of a good film school and don't quit your day job.
