      Fun, scary, good entertainment

An enjoyable, old style horror flick. Different from the usual run of the mill horror flicks. I liked the characters and the premise.

Lots of escapist fun. Obviously low budget but clever and well directed. Some great performances, particularly from the more seasoned actors. The father was great. Hot chicks, blood and guts, guns, multiple homicides, all the makings of a great way to spend 90 minutes. It is somewhat reminiscent of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" in a general way. Certainly has a realistic, documentary feel to it in the style of shooting. Dark, brooding, what things are like in a forest at night. Good solid film-making.

      Awesome Music in Winter Kill

I saw this movie and laughed and cringed so I would say that since it didn't put me to sleep it couldn't be all that bad! I loved the song Bawdy Blue at the beginning of the movie. They continued to use the same music throughout the film here and there (without words) and then again at the end during the rolling of the credits (again without the words). I believe the songwriter and performer was Janet Belma. The acting wasn't that bad at all and the storyline was actually pretty original (I think, I haven't personally seen any movies like this and I don't know if it was a remake or not????) The cold winter background shot in Canada helped make the film seem more realistic but somehow the filming or editing was lacking and left the movie feeling too cheesy.

      Good times

I enjoy this movie, it made for a fun drinking game, and I enjoyed the low budget indie-ness of it. Its interesting, a cheerleading team, that does well on stage, is full of cattiness and infighting, and that eventually is their undoing when the hunt begins and they are the prey. They can't work as a team like the hunters do because they're too busy not getting along. Although the cinematography isn't great and the editing has crickets in the winter, these are all little quirks that add character to the film. I don't know where that writing credit in here came from, the movie credits R.E. Denek as the writer. Anyway, see this if you want to have some fun.

      Worse than police Academy 4

Picture a horror movie made by people who have never seen a horror movie in their lives. Winter kill is a feeble attempt at B movie horror. The terrible acting is only surpassed by the ridiculous plot which follows a bus load of cheerleaders who are terrorized by a family of cannibals. No, really. That's what it's actually about. The majority of this film is so incredibly typical that it nearly passes as a spoof, but there's nothing funny about it. It is complete with unnecessary female showering, poor special effects, and brief insights into characters which ultimately go nowhere. The poor excuse of film making is capped off by the amazingly pompous and amateur direction of Gill Allen. negative two stars out of five. I will never forgive the makers of this atrocity for robbing me of 90 minutes of my life.
