Insel der Dämonen

The main character is my great grandfather from puri ageng sukawati palace in bali. It was a great movie.once a year my family watch the movie together so we can still remembered it.

Great movie, with a lovely story written by the local Balinese people, not-professional actors as far as I know.

Beautiful images, and very good acting.

The only thing I like less is that most of the music has absolutely nothing to do with Bali . Far too loud violins (but that were usual at the time this film was made) that make it almost impossible most of the time to hear what the actors are saying, although that's probably not a problem for most viewers that don't understand the Balinese language. The textboards in German explaining to the western audiences what they see on the screen are wrong sometimes (like in the beginning Wayan asks 'Sari, do you have cheap tobacco? He asks 'What are you selling, Sari?' and she answers 'Rice'. In the rest of their conversation tobacco is not mentioned.) But that doesn't really do any harm to the plot.

I love this film, and am actually working on translating the dialogues into English first, with the help of a Balinese friend who translated them into Indonesian, which I try to translate in English.

The ten are really merited!
