    Caution: Frog Crossing....

One from way back, "Frogger" is simple enough but addictive, just like all good video games should be.

See, you are the "Frogger" of the title and you must get yourself and your brothers back to your respective homes in the lake. Sound easy? Did I mention the busy interstate you must travel and the treacherous turtles that may or may not support you as you float on their backs or the logs that may well be crocodiles in hiding or the sneaky snakes that slither by for a bite as you pass? Oh, and the traffic just keeps getting faster and busier every time.

Like I said, it seems easy but every time you play you'll want to play again to try a new crossing plan. There's lots of ways to try but only one way to win: get back to your pad.

I've always loved "Frogger". Wish I could afford to have the old standing arcade game at my place. I'd never leave the house.

Ten stars for "Frogger" Try and find the original, you'll be hoppy you did!

Not as easy as it looks

Frogger is one of those early games you played in the arcade and it's impossible to forget about it.

As simple as the game might look and feel to be easy I can assure it is not a easy game to even play it take a lot of time and a lot of tries to get it right.

While the object of the game is to get across each stage without getting hit it is not easy.

Yes I know Frogger is one of the most important games in history of Video games but it don't mean that you just pick it up or put in coins to play just to be a master at it in minutes you need to be really smart and having your gamer senses on red alert.

Graphics are the pure arcade feel and the controls feel the same because this game is part of the golden age of video games. Yes some are masters at this game but I am not one of those

It's a game worth checking out and perhaps give people a idea of what video games were like back in the day just keep in mind not everyone can be perfect at video games

    I give Frogger a 6 out of 10

    Leaping for your life

This is another of my favorite games of mine and it's another childhood gem as it's another of the very first video games I've ever played.

I played this game when I was six it was at one of my local hot spots the "Burger Ranch" while I was living in Yakima, WA; I loved playing it then and I still do now. The game is timeless as it just as popular as it was before, there was an episode of "Seinfeld" that was one big homage to that game.

There's not a whole lot I can say about the game, it's such a simple concept as it's simply about getting frogs from point A to B safely. And that's what makes it work is the sheer simplicity of it, no overcomplicated bullcrap game don't need it. The game just shows you what you got to do, and you do it and do it well.

Graphical presentation is solid and basic but that's all that's needed. I really like the format of this which is a bit like a shooting gallery as we see there are obstacles and platforms that are in constant motion. Along with certain other hazards that can come into the fray like snakes, crocodiles, spiders, etc.

It's really the gameplay that makes it stand out, the gameplay is great as it seems simply but there is some technique involved as the game that really teaches you timing, paying attention to what's going on, and focus.

You must guide you frog from one section of danger to another safely and it's really not hard when you time things right and jump in the right spots, like with the crocodile you can actually jump on their backs along with the school of turtles as long as they don't submerge. But of course, if you get any of those things wrong then well it's a trip to froggy heaven.

This is also a really nerve racking game as you not just have to worry about getting your frogs to safety but each of them has a timer. There is also the fact of once you clear one level the next one the stakes get raised as more obstacles are added in and like the limited ammo in a shooting gallery you have only three lives.

Though you can gain more lives depending on how much you score like eating the fly which will jack up your points, though this only happens sometimes so with how many lives you must work with don't waste them.

"Frogger" is a vintage classic that still leaps high.

    Rating: 4 stars.
