This show is so cute that it's actually a little hard to describe. The show is about a Siamese kitten growing up in imperial China with her family and friends. In addition to Sagwa and her parents, there's also her brother and sister Dongwa and Sheegwa, their grandfather, and Sagwa's best friend Fufu (a bat). The cats are all under the care of the Foolish Magistrate, so made because of his tendency toward making rules that make absolutely no sense but still has a heart of gold. One thing that I really like is the theme song, which is where I got the title for my review. That song is quite lovely and sometimes I catch myself humming along to it. Adding to the theme song, cute characters, and cute story lines are some really great lessons and morals. Not only does it introduce Chinese language and culture but also some excellent moral lessons such as making appropriate choices, acting honourably, respecting elders, and looking after the good of a whole.
A very nice series for children, it teaches good life lessons and the characters are quite charismatic, a pity that it has been canceled, because I feel that it could have given us much more, even so, very nice series. My rating is a 10.
As a cat lover, I love this show. It's so cute, with beautiful colors in the backgrounds, interesting characters, and great short stories that teach valuable lessons in the historical setting of turn-of-the-century China. I do love shows and movies that are set in Asia (China, Japan, and India too), like "The Last Samurai," starring Tom Cruise and set in Japan. And I also love Chinese films like "The Young Avengeress" from 1969.
Sagwa, her best friend Fu-Fu the funny bat, and Sagwa's younger sister Sheegwa are my favourite characters from the show. As for characters I hate, I hate Tai-Tai for being a social climber and the way she has her husband wrapped around her finger; I hate hen-peckers. So anyway, that is all I have to say about this cartoon series: that I really love it.

i appreciate that sesame workshop is trying to show diverse cultures... but i just wish that more of the cast was actually chinese, or at least asian. i just think that it's strange that the characters are chinese, but the voices aren't. sometimes the characters use chinese phrases, and i feel like some of the voice actors don't really have mastery over the chinese language; so they don't have a realistic accent.
overall it's good show, and it's really fun for the kids. i know sesame workshop is doing the best it can to provide quality shows.

The after school line up was Art attack, Arthur and Sagwa (sometimes Pingo). Those were fun times in front of the TV.
I remember falling asleep to Arthur after a long day of school and wake up to Sagwa playing.
Sagwa was a nice wholesome show. The Animation at the time were some best. Voice work was great too. The Theme song is iconic too.
