the most recommended episode to say no to drugs

out of all the flintstone kids episodes that were so cute, funny, and unforgettable, this special could be considered a dark episode because of the drugs were introduced in this special. BJ ward's performance of Betty was the best i've ever seen since the first episode. Elizabeth fraser's performance of Wilma was also the best i have ever listened to. too bad rocky, Janet, flab, and tarpit tommy did not star in this special, because they were too afraid to become the victims of drugs, so that's the one weak point of this special. Michael jackstone was also similar to Michael Jackson nowadays. i did not like stoney when he called Wilma scooter, or any of his friends that are taking drugs. i was worried about Wilma if she takes drugs, i would be saddened. after Freddy and his friends tried hard on the racing clues section of this special, they were able to beat stoney, and won a trip to Michael jackstone's performance. this special and the main characters of the flintstone kids should be promoted to the drug prevention programs. remember people, do not take drugs as Wilma and Betty might say :).

    overall:

graphics: 10/10. animation: 10/10. voice acting: 10/10. continuity of characters: 3/10. sound: 10/10

A fun way to introduce the effects of drugs

My parents taped this for me when it originally aired in the 80s. The plot is basic: the Flintstone kids need to raise money in order to buy tickets to see Michael Jackstone (obvious reference) in concert. While attempting to raise money from teamwork, some older kids try to push drugs on our young role models. After failing to raise the money, the kids enter a race whose grand prize is tickets to see Jackstone. The older drug users also enter the race, expecting to crush our heroes. The effects of high drug abuse is shown when the Flintstone kids win the race due to the poor health of the drug users.

This was one of a few cartoon shows (another notable includes Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue) in the 80s to show young children that drugs were bad. This was one of the more effective shows because every kid could relate to the story. The desired thought process in kids would be, "I like to win. Drugs will make me slow, meaning I will lose. Hence, drugs will make me into a loser." While most kids my age could care less about the message, it seeped its way into their subconscious (well, mine anyway).

Neat Way To Teach Kids To Say No

After returning from a family vacation to Holleyrock, Fred and Barney learn from Betty and Philo that Michael Jackstone is going to have a concert in Bedrock. However, when they go to Wilma for ideas to raise the money for tickets, they see she has changed, as Betty told her she has been playing with Stoney while they were away. However, Stoney brings back marijuana, causing Wilma to leave and seek advice from her friends and parents, which gets her to end her friendship and start a Just Say No Club with Fred and the others, but causing Stoney and his gang to sabotage Fred's pet pampering service, causing the gang to enter the RIddle Rally.

This is a good special, as Wilma's parents and friends give her good advice when she come to them with the issue (with her dad telling her he went through the same thing, and he found new friends, as true friends never make friends do drugs), and it does show the bad effects of marijuana (as Stoney is unaware of his surroundings and. At the Riddle Rally, he cannot do his best).
