Sort of like a precursor of BABY'S DAY OUT minus the injuries

Jason is a rebellious deaf child that one day during a school trip ends up lost in the city after leaving his class and after some wandering around the streets he ends up joining the circus where he becomes a part of the clown act. Later in the day, when the sun is already setting down, its class goes in a night club where a clown act is preparing and after Jason notices his classmates he returns to them.

My summary refers to the fact that in BABY'S DAY OUT a small kid ends up lost in the city fooling always the three bumbling criminals that go after him. Well, here the kid ends up lost but there aren't bumbling criminals, he ends up joining the circus and then returns to his class. I wonder if the writers of BABY'S DAY OUT saw this short (38 minutes give or take) TV movie and added the criminals or it's just coincidental that they are similar. Overall, an endearing family movie tho obscure.
