Definitely needs 20 more seasons!
Bubsy's Animated pilot is insufferable like the game series, Accolade thought they could be the pinnacle of the platformer genre in the Sonic bandwagon if being the coolest mascot by the insane amount of marketing, and they failed miserably.
The characters are cliche and annoying, its formulaic and the comedy/charm is pathetically wrong since it's full of unfunny humor & tries to use cutaway gags & slapstick but was executed so desperately for comedic entertainment.
This was aired by the time when the Battletoads pilot was aired in Thanksgiving 1993, its twice the pain for video game cartoons since Sonic was the only successful mascot with his 2 cartoons at the same time.
The best parts about this is the catchy 90s styled instrumental theme song, Arnold is a relatable and likable character, Bozwell wanting to cook the brats & Bubsy and his obnoxious friends which could've been the best ending for this trainwreck, the joke that made sense like Arnold's quote at the start of this pilot: "No! Bubsy, worse than a truck". Which is what ya'll should take from this.

I know that pilots are often unpolished and not quite what the series may be like on average, but could this get any more infuriating? I mean, I don't hate Bubsy by a long stretch, and this pilot does genuinely have some good things going for it. For what I've seen, it looks like it could have been a mixture of Heathcliff and The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, both really surreal yet entertaining shows.
But this. This. THIS. Gah. Rob Paulsen and the cast give it their all, but the plotting's atrocious, the animation's just plain ugly (look at Bubsy on the thumbnail, just look at him!!) and the humour is just not there (outside of idiotic and unfunny jokes). What really grinds my gears is that they had the opportunity to give the disliked character a personality overhaul that might have made him more marketable, but they chose to make him even more unlikable.
If someone were to remake this into a serviceable pilot, I wouldn't complain, provided that they fix these problems and mix some originality into it.

Several cartoon of the 90s often tried to be "hip" and "cool" in attempt to gather has much young audience has they could. Characters with attitude and lots of slapstick, catchphrases. Though some did win its audience and later gained fanbase, some were were absolute duds and would years later become cringe to those who actually sat through them in their childhoods.
And if Bubsy, for some calamitous reason, did get green lit and had whole series, the memories would have been insufferable.
This single was unbearable enough.

When I started playing those Bubsy games, I already liked the character in an embracing way. And since then, I been having interests into just about any media that centers on the character.
I wonder why a number of viewers find this cartoon unfavorable? I wonder if all that disdain to Bubsy is based on the negative reception received by the character's first and only 3D video game? Whatever the reason, people should treat each media individually.
Some viewers say the rhythm of the show is loud or too upbeat. Well I have no problem with that. In fact that rhythm was something popularize in cartoons from the 1940s and 1950s.
As to what I appreciate in this one, the action and gags are adequate, and pretty standard for its time. Those action include aggressive excitement and exaggerated passion which is best suited for younger audiences.
The only flaw perhaps is the way Bubsy says his catchphrase maybe a bit to repetitive. Viewers don't need to be annoyed because one the characters in the show feels the same way.

You know this is kinda ripping off Adventures Of Sonic The Hadgehog. Here's why first of all it looks really has the same designs and my second reason is the joke and it's What Could Possibily Go Wrong which I hate and this is the only episode found. You wanna know why I hate this because it's that bad terrible. But, I gotta say if I did do a list of the worst cartoons this would be at number 3 on the list. This should've not existed anyways this sucks but I gotta say at least Mr Meaty is better than this.
