This is one of those Hey Fellas shorts from the silent era that was inspired by the success of Hal Roach's Rascals a.k.a Our Gang. The version on YouTube had the alternate series title "Those Lovable Scallawags with Their Gangs" which was also used for the Our Gang ones originally distributed by the Pathe Exchange. The kids in this one live in an orphanage with the mean boss lady. So they lock the door in the kitchen where they were doing dishes after she leaves and cause havoc not only with suds but also with broken plates, some food, and a disguised stork costume covering another kid from a nearby neighborhood! This was more amusing than hilarious but I got some enjoyment out of this short. Worth a look for anyone interested in these obscure kid comedies from the silent era. P. S. The director is Mark Goldaine who also helmed some Our Gang ones with Robert F. McGowan.
