    Why, Oh, Why?

If this were just a bad movie, Id be ok. But its a bad movie that brought up a semi-interesting line of thinking and that truly irritates me. The lead character gets into boxing after being recruited by a manager who also recruits exotic dancers for the ring. Whats semi-interesting? Are exotic dancers in some way well-suited for boxing? Since this aspect was just dropped without any sort of post mortem, Im left to assume that it was just a way for the director to show more flesh. Other than that? Bad acting, poor storyline - the kind of movie that infuriates you with its mediocrity...until you start enjoying the anticipation of discovering just how bad its gonna get.

    Perfectly awful

"Honeybee", which tells of a woman's pursuit of a dream to become a professional boxer against her father's best efforts to keep her in law school, is a huge flop. A pathetically amateurish production, something which is evident from the first spoken words, "Honeybee" is no "Girlfight", the breakthrough debut of Michelle Rodriguez, but rather a abysmal failure on all levels of film making. Even the fight sequences involving real boxer Corinne Van Ryck are poorly staged. There's nothing here for boxing fans much less film freaks. Pass on this one. (F)

PS: This could possibly be the second worst film I've seen - second only to Chuck Norris' "Breaker-Breaker". No, check that. This one is worse.

    Very entertaining film

This film was an excellent result of what independent filmmakers can do. Though it may be difficult (in these times of highly-publicized box office grosses), it's important not to compare this film to any other. The story was great, and it was what I left the theatre thinking about. If you want to see a film with a well-told story, check out Honeybee.

I was hitting myself to stay awake.

Inconsequential, bumbling tale, dreadfully shot, and shoddily directed. A very frustrating viewing experience that tells a painfully predictable story in a painfully cliche way. I wanted to like this one, but the finger kept hitting the fast forward button. The cast is totally wasted here, and looks lost from the direction or lack of it. I don't blame any of the actors here, but the crew are clearly not cut out for the business. The intentions may be there, but the skill is not. The lack of black film product in the market is the only reason why this is in distribution. That's a shame, because this pretty much sets independent black film back about 3-5 years.

    The worst film ever made!

Not only does this have a wafer thin plot, the makers of this garbage have no idea how to film a boxing scene. The viewer becomes fully aware that the director has never seen Rocky, Raging Bull, Harder They Fall, Requiem For A Heavyweight, or Tokyo fist. Do your homework! Who in their right mind would film everything from outside the ring?!? These idiots do! This is complete garbage. Does not work on any level. Wouldn't even work as an after school special. AVOID AT ALL COST!
