        Drama Worth Watching

Pooja (Ashwini Bhave) marries well and brings her young brother with her. Raju (Salman Khan) grows up into a simple man, intensely devoted to his sister and her husband, Thakur (Jackie Shroff). The family breaks apart, however, when Raju and Thakur's sister (Rhambha) fall in love, and when Thakur becomes bewitched by a prostitute (Shweta Menon).

This is a drama focusing mainly on the bond between brother and sister, the importance of family, and how much one will risk for those he loves. The romantic musical numbers do not fit in with Khan's role, unfortunately, and are a distraction. The rest of the story is good, though, and is certainly a movie worth watching.

Cheesy and typical yet fairly enjoyable

Bandhan is not a film one would want to watch for quality but merely for three hours of mindless fun. It is for the most part a typical and overdone Hindi masala flick which has action, romance, tons of tears and many songs. However, it still can provide a nice watch for the entire family for lovers of Hindi films. Every genre has its fans, I'm not a big fan of this genre but I can enjoy it when I'm with family and friends and there is nothing to be taken seriously. Some parts of this movie were actually quite entertaining to me (some were unintentionally so). The entire Salman-Rambha track when she pretends to be blind in order to trap him was pretty funny. I liked the brother-sister relationship portrayed in the film. However unrealistic this movie is, this part was, to an extent, well done. Everything else in the film was old-fashioned platitude, particularly Ashwini Bhave's character's corny belief that a woman must never leave her husband's house unless she dies, even if he brings another woman home. Jackie Shroff plays the husband who gets trapped by a young prostitute with restraint. Ashwini Bhave does very well as his wife Shweta Menon as the seductress is typical but effective. Rambha is passable in her role and she looks quite pretty. This film, however, is Salman Khan's film, and is made strictly for his fans, who certainly will not be disappointed by his work here. He is the reason this film remains watchable even at its most pathetic and intolerable points. There's nothing to rave about Bandhan, but I'm not going to be too harsh on it. It's time-pass, better watched with family and friends, nothing more and nothing less.

        Typical 70 movie plot

This movie is a mixture of lots of movie came in 70s with nothing much to offer and a predictable ending. This movie could be great watch for hardcore Salman fan.

        Salman Khan is the Best!

I enjoy watching Salman Khan's films very much because of his ability to portray the brave and romantic person who finds the woman he loves,in addition to the lovely songs, and the beautiful landscapes of India which are always present. Salman plays the role of Raju, a handsome young man who loves his childhood friend Juti and both them are determined to get married but they face some obstacles in their path when a prostitute and her ruthless brother interfere into the lives of Raju's sister and her wealthy husband who is Juti's older brother. The plot was written very well and it deserves 10 out 10 and of course,Bollywood always produces the best films that touch our souls and hearts.

Salman Khan refused to work with Jackie Shroff for 10 years due to his belief that Jackie and Sangeeta Bijlani had a affair in the late 80's. This was told by costume designer Anna Singh to Salman. Finally Salman let go of the grudge and signed the film.
