Another stale action film which is typical, boring, and unoriginal. It is one of numerous archetypal films of its sort starring Sunny Deol, a good actor in his own right who played the same role time after time, and this one is not a good example of it. What the film does have going for it is the music, especially "Mohabbat Ke Din" which is wonderful. Everything else in it is unimaginably poor, from the typical, absurd action sequences, to other technical glitches such as the dubbing, and the lack of credibility of the story and the romantic portions too.
Sunny Deol is his usual self and doesn't give the film what he can easily give when a great opportunity comes along (such as the hugely successful Gaddar, released the same year). Preity Zinta is given a most annoying role of a useless bimbo and considering the good work she did around those years (just in 2000-01: Kya Kehna, Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahta Hai, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke) this one falls flat even though she is always charming. I can't think of anything else to write about the film - it is just forgettable and unworthy.

Farz is definitely a good action-packed cop thriller worth watching. Sunny Deol fits the cop role, which is obviously tailor made for him. This movie has tons of mind-blowing action and thrills. The action is superb! His introduction and the climax are very well-done like everything else. Jackie Shroff is superb and tough as the suave villain. Sunny Deol's shear machismo is just awesome, and for that, he is truly the Action King. The climax was explosive, although it would have been perfect had Sunny used big machine guns. Om Puri's role as the good and honest cop reminds you of Ghayal. Johnny Lever provides comic relief, although it was shocking to see his character killed in the movie. Sunny Deol's cop role is similar to that of Champion, but this role is substantially more action-packed. Enjoy!
Well, the subject says it all. Acting is bad, and the plot is not very appealing. Preity Zinta, I must admit, is worth seeing in this one. In addition, the main theme song is quite remarkable.
Farz directed by raj kanwar starring sunny deol is a high voltage action thriller. Good script. All characters have a purpose. Each character of the story is in confrontation and interaction with one another. Some part of the film consists of police procedural. Om puri and sunny deol represent two different ideologies towards police way of working. Action is first rate. Music is good. Jackie shroff is brilliant as villain. Jaggu dada is under utilized talent. He should have got more variety grey shaded roles in bollywood. Pace, speed of the film is fine. Comedy scenes by johny lever could have been written in a more effective way to make it more convincing. In nutshell a good action film. Must watch.

This was the first Bollywood movie I ever saw and it was incredible - I have to say first that all songs blew me away, action is fun, the dancing is wonderful and Sunny Deol has a lot of sex appeal. His acting is not that good, and he can't really dance, but you keep expecting he'll take off his shirt (which doesn't happen). After all, he's a serious cop. Who gets set up by a terrorist. The story is rather simple, but if you don't take it too seriously (how could I, I laugh at Stallone/Segal/Van Damme/the Rock movies) it's quite enjoyable. I thought of it as a caricature of a Hollywood movie, and you know what? In that sense, movies like Farz are far superior to those produced in Hollywood.
