Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars!

Super Mario Bros. is one of the most famous video games of all time! The characters, the jumping, the power-ups, and the sure thrill of adventure makes this entire series a fun non-stop playing time! Below is a brief look how I think the game is!

Game Play: The game play is very good. There is really basic controls here and is easy to perform. Novice gamers should have a good time here!

Graphics: The graphics are wonderful. The backgrounds are really beautiful!

Difficulty: The game is easy but as it goes on you''s find out that it will become more difficult!

Music: Just fantastic catchy tunes through out the game! In My opinion its some of the best music ever in a video game!

Sound: The sound is great. Nuff said!

Overall: I have always loved Super Mario Brothers! If you like excellent adventure games then I strongly recommend you play this game!

Easily the best video game ever

What makes Super Mario RPG different from the other Mario games is that it's more fun. You are Mario. After saving Princess Toadstool from Bowser yet again, a giant sword crashes into Bowser's castle, sending the three of them off to different places in the world. You have to defeat the sword, from the infamous Smithy gang, and save Toadstool yet again.

The graphics look too good to be true. It doesn't look like a 16-bit system. The replay value is stupendous. You can never grow tired of it. You know what you're supposed to do, but there are so many other littler things that you may bypass the first time (such as Yoshi Island or the casino). You cannot compare it to Super Mario World; they are two completely different games. Super Mario World is a side-scroller; in RPG you can move freely. That opens up a whole new dimension to video games.

Along Mario's path to Smithy, he meets Mallow, a "frog" who cannot jump, Geno, a doll from outer space, Bowser (yes, even he joins the group), and eventually, Toadstool (who is quite a formidable fighter). Each one of them has their strength and weaknesses. The seven worlds you go through are memorable. Something else that is unique is that you may defeat a boss in world 1, and meet him again in world 6. There are more than just 5 recurring characters. You also learn about each character (like Mallow's past), and (this may sound ridiculous for a video game), you care about the characters. Find me another game that does that.

RPG is the best game ever created. I was not a big RPG fan, but I liked Mario, so I bought it. I love it a lot, and I know a lot of other Mario fans can justify with me with saying this is the best video game out there. If you have some spare change and a SNES around, buy this immediately.

    My rating: 10/10

    Woah, stunning...wait... GENIUS!

Great game! Kept me going for a looooooooong time. I can't wait until they make it into a GBA version! This is Mario's best adventure, namingly because it is: A) An RPG B) You can play as new characters (I.E: Bowser, Mallow, ect.) and C) Great Story and Humour. Good length and mystery. 11/10

The reason to keep your SNES around.

Hands down the best game I have ever played for SNES. I am not a big video gamer, in fact I basically suck at most, but this one I love. It's so cute and charming, and funny! Full of cute little gags. But don't get me wrong this is no child's game. There are puzzles even to challenge adults alike. The only reason I would recommend keeping a SNES around is for this game. The graphics may not come close recent game systems, but I have never played a game that has come close to this game's charm and playability.

    • Trivia
Contrary to popular belief, Smithy is not the same of the sword that plunges into Bowser's Keep. The sword is called Exor, and it is actually Smithy's means of transportation and way of linking the two universes. Even a commercial promoting the game got the names wrong.
    • Goofs
You fight Yaridovich, on the main map screen, on what appears to be a small coastal beach area at midday. But the actual fight takes place on a cliffside, at sunset.
    • Quotes

[Princess goes in to kiss Mario but goes completely past him. Booster and Bowser go in to kiss the Princess but end up kissing Mario]

      Bowser: Is that you, Princess?

Booster: Your face kinda feels like sandpaper!

      [They realize it's Mario]

      Bowser, Booster: WHAT THE?

Princess Toadstool: Hee hee hee! That's one for the book!

    • Crazy credits
During the credits we see that the Mushroom Kingdom is celebrating the defeat of Smithy by holding a parade. As Luigi leads the parade (yes, Luigi makes a cameo in this game), we see humorous scenes that involve Bowser and his minions fixing the castle, Booster with his new wife Valentina and her henchman Dodo, Johnathan Jones and his crew on his ship, prince Mallow with his real parents, and finally Mario and Peach together. The sky turns dark and the Mushroom people's costumes glow a la Disneyland electrical parade and it shows the Mushroom castle (resembling "Sleeping Beauty castle") and ends with fireworks (another Disneyland reference). How many fireworks you bought in Mole village determines which firework is shown. The whole thing ends when Geno returns to his home in the stars, while the music from the original "Super Mario Bros" game plays.
    • Alternate versions
In the Japanese version Bowser's win pose is him giving the "up your's" sign (a single fist held up with the other hand placed on the upper arm), but in the American version he simple holds up both fists in victory.
