"Casper og Mandrilaftalen" ( - roughly translated into "Casper and the Mandril Agreement") broke new ground when it was broadcast during 1999. Never before had TV satire been so lowbudget, so rough around the edges or so primitive. The writers of the show once described it as "Children's TV for adults" - which gives a good offset for understanding what this thing really is. Some might claim that it is just poor quality humour, others, myself included, think that this show might be the closest we can get to actual surrealistic or dadaistic TV. Most lines, albeit written in a script, seem to come from random impulses and some make no sense at all. But in all the meaninglessness the hilarious element involuntarily arises. The Python crew realised this back in the 70's and with Casper og Mandrilaftalen, the genre was renewed. Maybe that's why John Cleese stopped by in the second season of the show, as both a 'Gunrack of Love' repairman and a Kite enthusiast...
I bought the DVD without having seen any of the episodes, it was so funny that i'm right now saving money to buy the latest DVD.
At first you really don't understand it, but if you just open up for your crazy inner you'll understand it. Fx. without warning the host Casper Christensen throws a pair of football boots over his head and screams: "Let's get a break!" ´The guests isn't any better, it is the most wierd people you've ever seen before. I especially like the man Lars Krimi, the man without faith on himself. He thinks everything is crap!

Casper Christensen has always been there to experience new and odd humor for the plesure of tons of danes. We first saw him in the TV-show "Husk Lige Tandbørsten" ("Remember the Toothbrush") with his co-host Anette, who was soon to become his wife.
Now he's buisy with programmes like "Langt fra Las Vegas" ("Far from Las Vegas") and the radio-programme "Alfabetridderne" ("Knights of the Alphabet"). But I most say, that nothing will ever come near "Casper & Mandril Aftalen"! It's a programme with so low humor, that it makes it even funnier! It's so out there, that you sometimes can's stop laughing, only of the reason, that it makes no sence at all! I can clearly recommend this show for every one with a different kind of humor! Thumbs Up!

Casper & Mandrilaftalen is maybe the funniest danish comedy-show ever.
Casper Christensen made a funny show, where they did not care about the number of viewers. Lasse Rimmer, Lars Hjortshøj and Frank Hvam was on it, and they made a lot of funny sketches and some of the most crazy characters I have seen on TV.
It was too extreme for many, but some people watched it (it was sent very late) and 4 years later we still remember it. Broder Salsa, Gentlemann Finn, Pelle Klumpfeber, Bjarne Goldbæk and all the others! Great show with fantastic humor, watch it!

Watching Casper & Mandrilaftalen is like learning to play classical piano. It takes somebody to force you into it, it is boring, frustrating and confusing, but after a while, a whole new universe opens to the exclusive crowd (Mainly Danish-speaking weirdos)...
The show is by far the craziest, funniest and most ground-breaking TV show ever made - it makes shows like Monty Python look mainstream. The show revolves around the host, Casper, who present "news", invites "guests" (played by the other actors) and displays "talent shows". Most of what is being said *lobster soup! already now* seems completely without any structure, or without any purpose. However, by allowing *everything*, the creativity of the actors are spurred, and sharp-edged satire and criticism of "the establishment" is mixed with meaningless, absurd scenes.
You will not be able to appreciate fully this show if you watch it like you'd watch "Friends" or "Spin City", you have yo allow your fantasy flow with the fast pace, the crazy colors and the wicked universe, and you'll have almost as much fun as the authors had making it...
Just don't ask "why"...
On a scale from 1 to 10, it gets one billion killer-toucan beacons!

In total, 67 episodes were broadcast from Seasons 1 and 2, but the running time is equivalent to 68 episodes.
- Alternate versionsIn 2002, a 2-disc DVD release by CMC Records A/S [dk] entitled "Casper & Mandrilaftalen", compiling chunks from the TV-series. No new material was shot for the DVD.
