Every scene of the movie is well directed. The movie shows the true history of our nation which includes the struggle of Dr Ambedkar for the upliftment of oppressed classes. Also, there has not been a greater scholar in our country. The movie acknowledges this fact as well. The brutality of hindus upon untouchables and the denial of their human rights reflects the hypocrisy of hindu leaders who were demamding swaraj. The untouchables were not allowed to drink water from public wells. They were given rooms for rent.Dr Ambedkar himself had to suffer these ignominies when he returned to India after finishing his education in America to serve Baroda state.Gandhi ji whom we all considers a great leader opposed ambedkar's demand of separate electorates. The movie shows that even Gandhi was very apologetic of the chaturvarnya which is the root of casteism. The character of Babasaheb's wife has been also portrayed well.
All in all,the movie enriches our knowledge bank and also gives inspiration.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar (2000) :
Brief Review -
A Jabbar Patel Masterpiece which even defeats Attenborough's Oscar Winner Gandhi in accuracy and detailings. An Unreal Phenomena by Mammootty. Biopic on freedom fighters and social activities always find good response because these stories have that attraction and excitement which can grab eyeballs of every viewer. There are lot of films made on Indian History from 20th century, mostly from Pre-Independence Era but hardly some of them had that quality. From several biopics of Bhagat Singh to Gandhi to Patel and Azaad and many others, many films tried to be as real as they could be and some of them have succeeded too. But this one story of Dr. Ambedkar was different from others because it wasn't about fighting for freedom. It was about fighting for humanity. Whether it was Gandhi or Patel or Bhagat Singh, they all were fighting against British but this man Dr. Ambedkar was fighting with his own country fellas for the rights of low caste people. Later, he went on to write our constitution which serves the best aspects of equality among all humans even till date. But do we really understand it? Do we really see the complete equality in our society even today? Especially for the Untouchables? No. That's why this film ranks highest among all those biographical dramas for me because the content is like a never-ending debate. Attenborough's Gandhi missed few details because it was about the life of Gandhi and here this film does not compromise with the controversial stuff like Ambedkar opposing Gandhi and Congress for his motive of equality. It clearly expresses the anger and some disturbing facts like Ambedkar being termed as the greatest Villain to Hinduism and Country and many more. NFDC and Jabbar Patel deserves to be hailed for their guts. Mammootty has lived that character for 3 hours on screen. If Ambedkar was alive, even he would have clapped for him. In short, an Unmissable Masterpiece!

Dr. Jabber Patel hit the chord with the first look of the poster of the movie itself which drive me to watch the several times which I am unable to count in numbers. The very first quotation on the poster which loudly says "Great men created History, One man changed it- Dr. B. R. Ambedkar" made me to watch the movie like a mad fan. Whenever I watch Richard Attenborough's Gandhi, I salute his efforts in making such a magnificent work. If it would have been somebody else the project might have been something else which we might have not appreciated. Indian Film makers always failed to make a Biopic or a Historical work as we may count ASOKA, JODDHAAKBAR or BHAGAT SINGH where the makers failed to justify. Biopic or a Historical film needs to be research meticulously and handled sensitively. But it is sad to see lack of the geniuses in Bollywood film makers may be due to their strong market drive. But the Biopic of Dr. Ambedkar directed by genius Dr. Jabber Patel is an art of class which appealed everything it needs to make a perfect biopic. The sets are marvelous especially scenes like market area, parliament of India, railway station, tongs, vehicles train etc. Costume designing was of higher side. The script of the film was commendable. The cast especially Mr. Mammotty as Dr. B. R. Ambedkar was well justified with the attitude of perfection. Direction can be rated as number one of all times in making of Indian Biopic. This film appeals not to compromise while making of any Biopic in Bollywood and hope filmmakers will learn some lessons to upgrade themselves free of worries of Market strategies. All times outstanding Biopic of Bollywood till date.
