    Hits its target audience

This is a small film, as if I couldn't guess by its $6 price-tag at BestBuy. I bought it for my nephews, ages 12 and 10, and they liked it enough to watch it without interruption. The story is essentially about 3 foster brothers who lose one brother to an agency because the foster dad has lost his job and income. The oldest brother, Donny, must then find a way to earn money to get the lost brother (Sam) back home. A Razor scooter contest is the answer, but a bully threatens to throw a wrench into Donny's plans. There is also a cute 'crush' subplot; a girl named Erin is in love with Donny, and she is yet another obstacle (tho a good one!) in Donny's path. The film's music score is solid and upbeat, the adult actors are mostly professional, and the kid actors aren't bad. The story is borderline formulaic, but effective formula -- lots of tension and suspense, especially with the scooter contest at the film's end. Kind of like ROCKY on scooters, with all the 'heart.' I didn't plan on watching it the whole way thru with my nephews, but couldn't help myself. Overall -- a very watchable 'little' film. And a bargain at $6!

    Great memories about this movie!

I watched this movie when i was 3 years old now im 20 years older.

Somehow the plot of this movie always sticked with me. Its about family and teached a 3 year old me how important family is. Today i found this movie and rewatching it is a different experience then when i was a kid. In my memory there where details wich werent even in the movie. But still it is a beautiful exepierence and it makes me very nostalgic. Sorry for my bad english its not my first language.

Under no circumstance ever see this 'film'

Note: This is in no way a critical evaluation of any type. It is a warning.

I will not waste too much time on words concerning this 'film'. I feel it necessary to warn anyone out there who is considering watching 'Scooter Kidz', and if you already have, may god help you. This atrocity contains at least one, if not many examples of everything in the film-making bad books. The very fact this film has even been released to public viewing is truly horrifying. Every aspect of this film is absolutely sickening and wrong. There is not one redeeming quality to be found in 'Scooter Kidz', it fails on every level, including potential comedy.

What has this world come to?

    not THAT bad actually

OK...let's get things straight...after seeing a few minutes of this movie you understand that it's target audience is 5-12 yrs old..it's a kids movie...having said that it's not that bad actually...i'm into skateboarding for many years now and i found it entertaining cuz i haven't seen any scooter tricks ever....the contest trick scenes are impressive indeed...i saw it with my two nephews and they really enjoyed it...me too...if you don't expect a good movie but can live through formulaic script, caricature characterization (the good kid,the bad attitude kid) innocent childish portrayal of situations you will enjoy it...it's not a good movie but it's so cute and innocent that it's not necessarily bad....it's a plus if you're into any sports that relate to skateparks (bmx,skate,in-line) cuz you will have some relevant vibes from when you were a kid practicing these sports

    Decent script; bad acting

I picked this movie up from Best Buy about a month ago because it was only six dollars. I could tell from just the case itself that it was an indie film.

Although I wouldn't say I regret getting it, I can totally understand what it's a third of what most DVDs are these days.

"Scooter Kidz" is about a group of three foster brothers (two biological) and the new scooter craze. When the oldest brother gets a scooter for his birthday instead of a motorized dirt bike (before of money problems), he's a little disapointed and doesn't make any moves to try it out; that is until his younger brother is taken away from the home and placed in a rich couple's home, because it was three kids to a room at the foster home. In order to raise money, Donny has just a week to perfect his scooter skills for an upcoming competition.

The acting is, being nicely put here, pretty bad. They're all B-list actors/actresses, except for the foster parents. They force their lines and over-expressionize (is that a word?!), but all in all, if you're a kid, you'll probably find the movie entertaining. If you're a high-schooler, like me, you'll probably find some points a little laughable. If the actors would be replaced with kids with better skills, this might make the B+ range, because even with a supporting cast of Haley Joel Osment and other rising child stars, the script can't be risen to "Titanic" standards. After all, it IS a movie about scooter tricks.
