A clean family entertainer

"Jhooth Bole Kauwa Kaate" was the comeback film of the legendary film-maker, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, which he made after 10 years following "Jhoothi," which too was the last film of the legend. Clean family entertainers have been the trademark of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's movies. The trademark persists in his last production too, which in many ways stands different to 90s formulaic movies. It, at instances, presents some wit and laughs. But overall, the film feels a bit weary with the familiar jokes from the legend's masterpiece comedies like "Golmaal " and "Naram Garam." The performances are ok, but lack the sparks. In a nutshell, the film represents the film-making style of a legend with some decency but misses the sparks in performances and narration which ends it into a passable entertainer, but not a masterpiece.

Classic Clean Comedy

This is one of those clean comedy movies which you can enjoy with your whole family. It may not be a laugh riot but it will definitely leave you with a sweet taste in your mouth. Anil Kapoor does complete justice to his role as well as the other actors but Amrish Puri outshone everyone. The only annoying actor was Sajid Khan. The direction was brilliant but the cinematography was awful. But if you want to have a fun movie which you can watch with your whole family then this is the one. Also when i was a little boy I used to go to town with my mom. One day during my birthday i stayed home and my mom she would go and get the cake. So i waited and waited. I could not hold on much more and so i went to look for her. I got lost. And this old man took me to this place where there were lots of other children. But they were disabled in some way.

It's one of those movies which can be rewatched again and again and every time it's enjoyable. None other than Hrishikesh Mukherjee. One of the greatest directors in the history of Bollywood. His every movie is evergreen. About this movie, especially because it's the last film of his. Anand-Milind music plus the views, the scenery make the movie more enjoyable and unforgettable.\\A retired police officer, his wife, his daughter, his new paying guest, and some lovely and hilarious consequences.\\ Amrish Puri, Reema Lagoo, RIP. What a pair, what a performance. Anil Kapoor is one of the best comic actors in Bollywood, a multi talent. Juhi is okay. Anupam Kher is hilarious. Sajid Khan is an amateur. Overall 100% recommended.
