    Childhood revisited...

My sisters and I would watch the one episode that we had on videotape over and over. I see now that that tape was older than me -most likely. It was one of those great things that I will always remember about being a child. Because we only had that one episode, I am not even sure if Angel ever really did find the seven-coloured flower. Great show.

A never ending search to get your hands on this one

I thought for the longest time that this was just called "the flower angel" but it has a mass of names. You cannot understand how long I tried to remember this name. I used to rent once a week every week from Blockbuster when I was like 5 and thought that it was a movie. Like the other reviewer said, I was basically watching the same episode over and over again. I only discovered today after having scanned ebay and buying what I thought was the one that there are 50 episodes!! It wasn't the episode I used to so lovingly watch but I am still on the lookout. Anyway, see http://www.themanime.org/viewreview.php?id=31 for more detailed info!

    A classic! Must see!

I watched the whole series again recently. I can't believe how much more I understand 25 years after the first time seeing it. Dam I was a dumb kid! Rich in symbolism and analogies to the real world, there is nothing being "preached". I learned as we feel, letting that faintly touchy feeling slowly reach me and evoke deep thinking. That sentiment for conscience and innocence came back to me as I watched. I definitely recommend it to people of all ages. I mean, if you are an adult and you are feeling down, this is certainly something that's gonna light up your day. I don't think any other so-called "for-girls" Japanese anime would be able to surpass the achievement of this one. Especially those made in the 90s are just shallow, cheesy, emotionally exaggerating and too far from reality comparing to this one.
