This ‘Killer Klowns from Outer Space’ Firework is Blowing Our Minds
Image
Released in 1988, The Chiodo Brothers’ Killer Klowns from Outer Space has developed a massive circus tent of fans. Many—myself included—consider it to be the ringleader of killer clown movies. Recently, that fandom has resulted in all sorts of fun memorabilia, from Killer Klowns mugs to T-shirts and even a snow globe. But one obvious item has been missing.

Discovered on a Reddit thread, we at Dread Central have learned of an unofficial Killer Klowns from Outer Space firework! Released through Cutting Edge Fireworks and dubbed the “Happy Clown Bomb”, the box displays a not-so-film-accurate image of what appears to be the “Rudy” clown. Apparently, it shoots flaming balls. Neat.

Say Hello to The ‘Happy Clown Bomb’

This isn’t exactly “new” news, as the “Happy Clown Bomb” was released seven years ago. But I’d bet this is the first time most of you’re hearing about it.

“The armor perk is the most disappointing thing”: Masters of Ceremony May Not Be Worth Your Money, Helldivers 2 Fans’ Honest Verdict
Image
The Masters of Ceremony Warbond was just announced for Helldivers 2, but it hasn’t been received too well. Arrowhead Game Studio’s live-service shooter has been going through a content drought in the last few months. And with problems like bugs and performance complaints on top of it, there was a lot of pressure on the studio to deliver with the new Warbond and update.

The studio knew that, too, and the developers even hyped up the Warbond that would drop on May 8. Arrowhead has been known for its community support and engagement, so the hopes were high because of this. But the reception for the new announcement has been mostly negative. Fans are complaining about the lackluster content and what seems to be a shrinkage of content.

The Master of Ceremony Warbond in Helldivers 2 is underwhelming

The main thing that fans are complaining about is the armor perk. Both...

“That’s It?” Helldivers 2 Players Are Calling New Warbond “Unacceptable” For How Few Items Are Included
Image
Another Warbond is coming to Helldivers 2 on May 15, but following its reveal, players are already critical of how little it's offering. Premium Warbonds are the co-op shooter's steadiest influx of new content, charging players 1,000 Super Credits for new armor, weapons, stratagems, boosters, and more. Players have been vocal about a steady decline in each Warbond's content, though, and Masters of Ceremony is continuing the unfortunate trend.

Following the reveal of the Masters of Ceremony Warbond, the Helldivers subreddit has seen a noticeable number of posts criticizing the amount of items included. Creepy_Ad3991 says, "I'm sorry for being negative, but that's it?" Another user, NizzyDeniro, is less meek in their criticism, saying, "Warbonds have less content, same price. This is Unacceptable!!" with screenshot comparisons to prove their point. As demonstrated, Masters of Ceremony has much fewer items to offer than previous Warbonds, like Cutting Edge and Democratic Detonation.

All Helldivers 2 Warbonds Are Equal but This One’s Straight-up Overpowered
Image
In Helldivers 2, we spread democracy with bullets and bombs, and one of the ways we can do this better is with Warbonds. Warbonds in Helldivers 2 are like themed battle passes that let us unlock new weapons, equipment, and gear. And while we’ve been spoiled with many good ones to choose from, one of them is easily the best.

While Super Earth proudly claims all Warbonds promote democracy equally, we can all agree that the Democratic Detonation Warbond has unmatched value. No matter what faction or mission type you’re going for, this Warbond has something for you.

The Democratic Detonation Warbond has some of Helldivers 2‘s best weapons

So, what makes the Democratic Detonation Warbond so absurdly strong? Well for starters, it’s packed with top-tier weapons that handle nearly every threat Helldivers 2 can throw at you. The Thermite Grenade, for instance, melts tanky enemies like Chargers, Impalers, and Bile Titans.

10 Best Promos In WWE History, Ranked
Image
Wrestling promos are the bread and butter of the WWE system. Promos are arguably even more important than the actual in-ring wrestling. Of course, the latter is important, but they're called promos for a reason. They promote - sell - to audiences matches and storylines, to motivate them to keep coming back for more.

Promos sell audiences the stories the wrestlers are telling, the shows coming soon to a venue near them, and why they should pay to buy a ticket or watch the product. A promo can be a solo segment from a wrestler directed to someone else, an interview, or even a talking segment with multiple wrestlers. As successful as WWE is now, much of that success is hinged on the quality of their promos. More than just promote, promos are capable of changing the landscape of storylines.

D.B. Sweeney and Moira Kelly in Le feu sur la glace (1992)
Source Image: Amazon Although it wasn’t a huge hit upon its initial release, The Cutting Edge has endured for more than three decades as a cult classic. The movie, about a figure skater and a hockey player who team up to achieve an Olympic dream, featured D. B. Rising Taiwanese Editing Studio Cutting Edge Films Keeps the Festival Hits Coming
Image
What did five of the most critically acclaimed Asian movies that premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival have in common? They all were edited by rising Taiwanese studio Cutting Edge Films.

Formally established only in 2022, the company comprises a small group of film professionals who have worked together for over a decade. They are co-led by French editor Matthieu Laclau (Touch of Sin), known for his long-running collaboration with Chinese auteur Jia Zhangke, and Taiwanese producer Justine O. (The Chinese Mayor, Black Dog), whose work has nabbed a succession of festival prizes in recent years. The company says its recent successes point to the maturity and expanding reach of Taipei’s post-production sector, which has been buoyed by steady government support and a growing reputation for high-quality work at globally competitive prices.

“Taipei’s post-production scene is definitely having a moment,” says Laclau. “For VFX, editing or color grading,...

“Arrowhead have set unrealistic goals:” The Helldivers 2 Devs have to Make a Hard Choice or Fear the Playerbase Abandoning Them

Since its launch, Helldivers 2 has been increasing and maintaining its concurrent player count at a stable rate. People are eager to jump into the fray against Terminids and Automatons in a bid to expand Super Earth’s dominion in the cosmos. However, that doesn’t mean the game is a perfect experience.

Glitches and bugs are common for most games, especially when it comes to live-service multiplayer titles. While the developers at Arrowhead are committed to fixing issues that crop up, the endeavor may result in some broken promises.

“The reason why I became a game dev is Nintendo”: Despite Helldivers 2 Being a PS5 and PC Exclusive, the Game’s Director Johan Pilestedt Says That the Live Service Smash Hit Wouldn’t Exist Without Mario
Image
Helldivers 2, the co-op third-person shooter from Arrowhead Game Studios, is the most surprising but deserving hit of 2024. The game is the direct sequel to the top-down shooter Helldivers, which was released back in 2015. The game has broken several records since its release in February.

The game has been praised by both fans and critics as they fight for democracy against the Automatons and Terminids. But this fun co-op game probably would not have existed if it wasn’t for the Mario developer Nintendo, as it was an inspiration for Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt.

“I love that”: After Not Wanting to Play It, Dr DisRespect Can’t Get Enough of Helldivers 2’s Latest Mechanics

Helldivers 2 can lead to a change of heart in a man, and the community recently witnessed it. Interestingly, it was the man who stood by his decisions, no matter how vague they were. Take Advantage Of This Overpowered Helldivers 2 Bug Before It’s Too Late

What MTV Classic Needs to Do to Survive
Michael Stipe at an event for Happy Tears (2009)
If MTV Classic is anything like MTV, it'll be on the air for a month before people start complaining they don't play enough music. The "new" channel launched on August 1st, the 35th anniversary of MTV's debut, opening up the vaults to a pop-culture treasure trove that's been gathering dust for years. They should have done this years ago. MTV Classic wants to establish its music cred early on — they were wise to spend most of the first day playing classic Unplugged episodes, with Nirvana, Erykah Badu and R.E.M. The...

6 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Fastlane 2016
WWE.com

Well, that was a PPV. It took place on a Sunday and was available on the WWE Network, so it clearly was a PPV. But beyond that, you really couldn’t tell the difference. Fastlane crowned a new #1 contender who will go on to face Triple H at WrestleMania Xxxii, but if you didn’t know who that would be a month ago, then you probably believe your uncle really does pull coins from behind your ear.

Aside from Roman Reigns’ unstoppable march to Mania, there really weren’t any major developments to come out of Fastlane. No one stabbed anyone in the back. No new stars debuted to challenge longtime title-holders. No titles changed hands. No WrestleMania matchups came into clearer focus (aside from the afore-mentioned main event). It really was the definition of a placeholder PPV.

If you skipped Fastlane, you missed a couple really good matches and some entertaining banter,...

7 Ups And 9 Downs From Last Night’s WWE Raw (Feb 15)
WWE.com

Did you know that WWE has a PPV on Sunday? Did you also know that there are only five matches officially announced as of the close of Raw? If you were expecting to see the card filled out Monday night, you were disappointed. (Oh, but the tag champs New Day will appear on an episode of the Cutting Edge Peep show during the PPV.)

We’re on the Road to WrestleMania, but if you expected to see the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, then you were disappointed. If you thought you’d see or hear from the Undertaker or a potential WrestleMania opponent, you were disappointed. If you wanted to see some star power from WWE to raise more interest in the product as Mania draws nearer, then you certainly were disappointed.

But if you wanted to watch Zack Ryder lose, Brie Bella try to emote, and someone win...

Michael Ware on advice from David Michôd, and the "torturous" Only the Dead
When Michael Ware got back from Iraq, he dumped all the handycam footage he'd shot there in a tupperware container at his mother's house.

When the former correspondent for Time and Newsweek finally brought himself to dredge them out, he realised he had a film on his hands.

"I was sitting there with a friend of mine who's an editor, and she helped me realise that there was a story buried in that archive", Ware said. "That led to us to ingest those tapes, which I'm extraordinarily thankful for because the first of them were just starting to deteriorate"..

Ware first approached Screen Queensland with the idea of fashioning his footage into a feature.

"I sat down with a three-person panel, very clumsily talking about a project I didn't yet have a handle on, about financing I didn't yet understand, and about logistics still beyond me. One of the three...

The DJ Awards Reminds Us That People In Ibiza Like Better Music Than We Do
The DJ Awards in Ibiza just celebrated its 18th edition, and even though DJ Mag holds down the fort when it comes to rankings of all things Edm, fans of dance music’s more sophisticated side might rejoice in some of the former awards ceremony’s selections.

That said, before you tear apart this claim in the comments section (I know you were going to), bear in mind that Hardwell does have not one, but two entries on this list – namely in the International DJ and Progressive House/Electro categories. Oh, and there’s an “Electronica” category, because apparently we’re still in the year 2000.

Aside from that, though, respectable outfits like Carl Cox, Hot Since 82, Luciano, and Solomun grace the other entries, and the “Special Awards” heading features an interesting collection of innovators and organizations behind the curtain.

Take a look at all the entries for the DJ Awards...

Go Up Close And Personal With The Robotic Dinosaurs Of Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn
See Full Gallery Here

Dinosaurs are a woefully underused trope in the video game industry. Sure, we had the Turok series for a while in the late 90s, coupled with Primal Rage and Dino Crisis, but it’s about time the prehistoric predators come back with a bang. We can only put up with zombies for so long, after all. Killzone developer Guerrilla Games is hoping to do just that and more with all-new IP Horizon: Zero Dawn,

Featuring towering, mechanized dinosaurs, Guerrilla’s latest wowed the PlayStation faithful during Sony’s E3 presser yesterday evening, promising a beautiful open-world within which players can train and hunt the cyborg beasts. What makes Zero Dawn so special, though, is its intriguing set-up. Relegating humanity back to the caves, the PS4 exclusive will see mankind scavenging for resources in the far future, one where nature has completely reclaimed the once-powerful cityscapes that dominated the skyline.

Jay Baruchel and Raeanna Guitard in Man Seeking Woman (2015)
HitFix First Look: Jay Baruchel takes the ice on 'Man Seeking Woman'
Jay Baruchel and Raeanna Guitard in Man Seeking Woman (2015)
Toronto, Ontario. It's mid-November on the Toronto set of Fxx's "Man Seeking Woman" and a strange "Cutting Edge" reenactment (kinda) is taking place. Series star Jay Baruchel, writer of one of the finest hockey movies ever made, is flopping around the ice at the Weston Lions Arena making a fool of himself.  In this episode's piece of heightened reality, Baruchel's Josh has been invited to accompany sister Liz and her boyfriend on a dancing evening, only to discover that the dancing is ice dancing and it's competitive ice dancing. As Liz and Leo shine on the rink, executing flips and synchronized moves, Josh flops and flounders to Hall & Oates' "You Make My Dreams Come True," slamming into the boards and crawling desperately across the ice. [No, Baruchel doesn't play the hockey player in "Goon." And yes, this ice dancing isn't likely to play an ongoing part of the "Man Seeking Woman" continuity. So yes, it's only barely like the hockey-to-figure skating transformation in "Cutting Edge." But I'm sticking to the comparison.] At the end of each take,...
