Transformers director Michael Bay returns to the big screen. But rather than a tale about giant alien robots, the filmmaker instead keeps things grounded (so to speak) with a documentary all about Storror, a group of parkour and freerunning athletes. We Are Storror has now debuted at SXSW 2025, and the first reactions have since emerged, with critics having praised Bay’s deliriously kinetic vision of the aerial urban acrobatics.
Critic @SiddhantAdlakha took to X/Twitter to share that We Are Storror is nothing less than "incredible," praising the documentary for offering insight into the group and how they deal with being aging athletes, its reflection on more universal themes and, of course, "dizzying" parkour sequences.
The Michael Bay-directed* “We Are Storror” is absolutely incredible. A dizzying stunt doc about an aging parkour group that puts into perspective the passage of time and the thrill of moving images throughout history. Praying for an IMAX release.

Believe it or not, once upon a time, Robert Pattinson was not considered a top-notch actor. Sad but true! To be fair, there were a lot of mitigating factors surrounding this, chief among them the fact that he exploded onto the scene as the male lead in the "Twilight" saga, finding himself at the epicenter of that dubious pop-cultural phenomenon. Despite hordes of screaming young fans going wild for the English actor based on his beauty, the dismissal of Pattinson by snooty folks at the time helped teach us a valuable lesson later, one which we keep failing to learn: teen girls do tend to have good taste.
After all, almost immediately following his tenure in the "Twilight" films, Pattinson used his newfound clout to become a star to be reckoned with. He doubled down on a collaboration with the cerebral Canadian provocateur David Cronenberg, appearing in both "Cosmopolis" and "Maps to the Stars.

While highly intelligent and multilayered achievements in filmmaking will always garner respect and praise from critics and awards bodies, there will always be an ingrained audience for those looking to let loose and enjoy a dumb, mindless film. Being an unintelligent film is far from a sign of low quality, as many films embrace their chaotic, nonsensical sides to become wildly entertaining and effective in their own right. Films like the Jackass franchise and the Fast and the Furious franchise are key examples of films that use their stupidity as a tool for exceptional and entertaining filmmaking.

Toni Basil's 1982 single "Mickey" caught fire upon release, and it's now one of pop music's enduring earworms. Using it as the theme for the new Mickey 17 trailer is so spot on.
Robert Pattinson's Mickey is making a killing in Bong Joon-ho's latest film, its new trailer's theme music is also on the nose. Toni Basil's "Mickey" is popular even to those who don't know the singer, the track was recently used on a Deadpool & Wolverine promo. Mickey 17 is an iteration of the titular character (Pattinson), who consented to become a disposable clone worker. Mickey is sent out as a guinea pig to alien worlds, and as the title suggests, he's gone through plenty of "resurrections". Basil's single is so upbeat and catchy that it perfectly captures the film's morbid humor.

When it comes to slasher films, the iconography of the killer is often more important than the story. As long as fans are being given the chance to watch Michael Myers show up in his white-painted Captain Kirk finest to slaughter anyone who gets in his way, no one cares about trying to make sense of the the nonsensical and convoluted timeline of the "Halloween" franchise. Even people who have never watched a horror movie in their life could probably identify Jason Voorhees from "Friday the 13th" in his iconic hockey mask, or clock Leatherface from "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" even without his titular weapon. The look of a slasher villain should strike fear into the hearts of the audience ... but it should also be memorable enough to be marketable.
It's a delicate balance, and it's not the easiest thing in the world to pull off. The basic "sackhead...

Yes, this is what we've been waiting for. Comedy legend Seth Rogen is coming to save streaming audiences with a fresh new comedy. Rogen is breaking new ground with his upcoming Apple TV+ series The Studio, in which he plays a beleaguered Hollywood producer. The new trailer for the meta comedy series about the pitfalls of the film industry introduces us to one of Rogen's many projects: Duhpocalyspe, an absolutely bonkers zombie movie starring Jackass daredevil Johnny Knoxville and Five Nights at Freddy's star Josh Hutcherson.
The premise of Duhpocalypse is that there's a zombie outbreak, only this one spreads through explosive diarrhea – as depicted in a majorly graphic moment (see below). If the title wasn't funny enough, seeing Hutcherson covered in bloody Zombie diarrhea will definitely either make you laugh, or get sick to your stomach. The hilariously gross fake movie adds so much to the already overt satirization...

We’re just a few months away from the release of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, which is supposedly the last installment in the film series that began as a spy thriller about stealing floppy discs, then somehow morphed into Tom Cruise’s big budget take on Jackass.
But we would have never gotten any joy out of seeing Cruise routinely endanger his life for our amusement if not for the actions of one of the most famous comedic performers of all-time: Lucille Ball.
Ball’s production company Desilu produced a number of famous TV shows, including Star Trek and the original Mission: Impossible series. And Ball didn’t simply greenlight the pitch and walk away either. As one of the show’s stars, Barbara Bain, revealed in an interview, Lucy had the “final word on the casting.”

Jackie Chan is known for hurting himself when performing his own stunts, and the action and martial arts icon joined forces with another guy who is also known for self-injury, Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, for the buddy cop action comedy Skiptrace, which is headed for Max next month. Directed by Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger’s Renny Harlin, Skiptrace pairs Chan and Knoxville together after a Hong Kong detective finds himself teaming up with an American gambler to take down a major criminal.
Written by Jay Longino and BenDavid Grabinski, Skiptrace stars Fan Bingbing, Eve Torres, Eric Tsang, Winston Chao, and Yeon Jung-hoon alongside Chan and Knoxville. Released in 2016, Skiptrace was met with a... not-exactly-ideal response from critics, with the action movie receiving a “rotten” score of 38% on Rotten Tomatoes and a somehow-even-worse score of 27 from audiences on the Popcornmeter.

Hi, I’m Bruce Wayne and welcome to Jackass! Robert Pattinson is such a big fan of both Jackass and one of its original stars, Steve-o (real name Stephen Glover), that he has perfected an accent that he joked would serve him well if there was ever a movie about the wild stuntman.
Speaking with Elle, Pattinson admitted, “I used to love, and I still do love, Jackass. I remember listening to an interview with Steve-o years ago and he was talking about how much they got paid for these dangerous stunts on the first season, and he said a hundred bucks. Like, you can die from doing this, and he was like, ‘Nah, I’ll just do it for a hundred. It’s fine.’ And there was something about that—actually being really brave and not ever acknowledging that it’s bravery…If they ever make the Steve-O biopic,...

I’ve been such a huuuge Jackie Chan fan for so long I never pass up one of his releases, even though he’s been largely coasting on fumes for a while. In his prime, no one from Any country crafted and executed scintillating action with comedy and charm like he did. But he turned 70 last spring, and understandably can’t do what he did in front of the cameras, despite the amazing degree of agility and stamina he still has after so many years and so many injuries. Just what’s been recorded in the legion of outtakes during decades of credits would have killed most mortals – including the dudes from those “Jackass” programs.

According to the online right, 176 years of American feminism are rendered moot by America’s most popular prank show.
Impractical Jokers is unique among massively successful comedy shows in that it’s a prank show that, somehow, manages not to offend anyone or get itself banned from the houses of high-school-aged boys across the country as a series like Jackass did before it. Although it has an ignominious reputation, Adam Sandler’s holiday movie Eight Crazy Nights is nowhere near as bad as critics claimed. In 2002, it truly seemed as if Adam Sandler could do no wrong. After a successful star-making run on Saturday Night Live, Sandler starred in a string of hit ‘90s comedies that elevated him the Hollywood A-list. Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, and Big Daddy were all huge hits, while 1998’s The Wedding Singer proved that Sandler could also anchor a sweet rom-com. This era featured some of Sandler’s best characters and made his box office gold.

Welcome to IndieWire After Dark, where we pick a new theme for our midnight movie programming every month!
Join us on Friday nights (and special occasions!) to explore some of the strangest fringe films available at any hour in the Streaming Age.
The lights are twinkling and the temperature is dropping. But in December 2024, the merry-making vibes are distinctly and resolutely… off. Lean into that discomfort with some Holiday Midnight Movie (and TV!) Madness as we celebrate a weird year.
After several particularly stressful months in current events, the pre-Christmas season feels oddly foreboding. That might be a welcome reprieve for those of us who are usually glum during the holidays (just me?), but the blues can sneak up on anyone. Whether you’re battling a bickering family or dealing with loneliness, weirdo cinema has the power to fight your funk with more funk.
When in doubt, clown it out!

From his 2009 self-produced debut LP Bastard to his 2024 genre-blending neo-industrial concept album Chromakopia, LA-based rapper Tyler, the Creator has become one of the most unique voices in modern hip-hop. Tyler's sound has certainly evolved from the provocative shock value of "Yonkers" off 2010's Goblin – which skyrocketed the rapper to internet fame – to the heartfelt pleading of "Earfquake" featuring a baby-voiced Playboi Carti on the most unexpected pop breakup album of 2019, Igor. Tyler's come a long way from the early days of his rap collective Odd Future, which also introduced the talents of Earl Sweatshirt and Frank Ocean.
Tyler, the Creator is one of hip-hop's great and few auteurs who bring cinematic elements into his track lists and production themes. His latest, Chromakopia, has a distinct artistic vision that adds another compelling chapter to his already versatile discography yet is still quintessentially Tyler at its core. UnitedHealthcare CEO Shooting Person of Interest Gave Steve-o’s Memoir 3 Out of 5 Stars on Goodreads
The secret to good storytelling is, paradoxically, to “show, don’t tell.” Jackass star Steve-o could learn a thing or two from the “show” in front of the Midtown Manhattan Hilton Hotel this past Wednesday.
Earlier today, law enforcement officials announced that they had brought in a person of interest for questioning regarding last week’s shooting death of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, ahead of the company’s shareholder meeting in New York City. Police officers in Altoona, Pennsylvania arrested Luigi Mangione, 26, on gun charges this morning after an employee at a McDonald’s location where Mangione was eating notified the authorities about the presence of a man resembling the widely publicized security photos showing the shooter’s partially concealed face.
Upon apprehending Mangione, officers found in his possession a gun, a silencer, a fake ID and a handwritten manifesto lambasting health insurance companies for prioritizing profits at the expense of American lives.

Warner Bros. shuffled its film release schedule, planting “Final Destination: Bloodlines” on the calendar in summer and delaying the J.J. Abrams-backed mystery thriller “Flowervale Street” to 2026.
“Final Destination 6” will be released on May 16, 2025. It’s taking over the slot previously occupied by “Flowervale Street,” which was set for mid May but has been pushed nearly a year to March 13, 2026. “Final Destination: Bloodlines” is the only major studio release on that date, but it will debut two weeks after Disney’s Marvel adventure “Thunderbolts” (May 2) and the week prior to Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” and Disney’s live-action “Lilo & Stitch” (May 23).
The studio also acquired “Animal Friends,” a live-action/ CGI hybrid road trip adventure starring Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Aubrey Plaza and TikToker Addison Rae, and pushed its release date back to Oct. 10. Sony was previously set to release the film in August before Warner Bros.

While fans love Family Feud, the celebrity version of the show remains highly entertaining. This was never more apparent than when Johnny Knoxville was on the show with his castmates from the Jackass franchise. Everything started going wrong when Johnny whipped out his taser.
Here is what happened on the hit game show.
Johnny Knoxville Brings Wild Antics To Celebrity Family Feud
Johnny Knoxville was on Celebrity Family Feud in 2022 while he was promoting Jackass Forever. The game saw the Jackass cast competing against each other for charity, with Johnny on one team and Jeff Tremaine on the other.
Steve Harvey – YouTube
The game had Johnny and Jeff go up to answer the first question: “Tell me something you’d hate to have happen while you’re making love in an airplane bathroom.” Tremaine said, “The toilet flushes,” and that was actually on the board. However, Johnny got a chance...

Celebrity Family Feud is the best way to watch everybody's favorite stars, and their families, compete against each other to try to win prize money for charity. The celebrities that have gone head-to-head have always come up with the most hilarious answers to the survey-style questions that they were asked by the iconic host, Steve Harvey. This show has had the best of the best; Andy Cohen vs. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kim Kardashian and her family vs. Kanye West and his, and even Kelly Clarkson vs. Amy Schumer. Every episode is uniquely entertaining, but one of my personal favorites is Season 8, Episode 11, with Jackass vs. Jeff Tremaine.

We’ve talked before about Criterion, the home video company that celebrates the medium of film with prestige releases of great works of cinema, which they then use as bait to trap celebrities in their closet. Does someone want to check on Jude Law real quick and make sure that he got out okay?
Criterion also has its very own streaming app, the Criterion Channel, which allows subscribers to pay $10.99 a month in order to feel extra guilty for binging the entirety of Riverdale while the complete films of Ingmar Bergman remain untouched.
But the Criterion Channel doesn’t just contain foreign and arthouse classics, they’ve also expanded to include some less-obvious choices. Like how they included Tom Green’s Freddy Got Fingered in their Razzie-themed program earlier this year.

Exclusive: A high-profile Spike Jonze series at Netflix that has been shrouded in secrecy is not going forward at the streamer — at least for the foreseeable future, sources tell Deadline.
No information about the ambitious project was ever officially released, but the limited series is believed to be produced by Sister and had been in the works at Netflix for more than two years, with the streamer commissioning a writers room and exploring castings over that period. It is unclear whether anyone else besides Jonze was ever formally attached to the show; various names rumored for possible involvement over the past year or so include actors Joaquin Phoenix and Brad Pitt as well as director Halina Reijn.
As of this past summer, the series was said to be eyeing a casting director and a potential 2025 start.

The early aughts were a magical time for Reality TV. Sure, MTVs The Real World had already been out for about a decade, but other now beloved programs like Survivor, Big Brother, and The Osbournes were just getting started. At the turn of the millennium, with nothing but a few video cameras, a dream, and perhaps a not-so-firm grip on mortality, a group of young men struck out to do something the world had never seen before. They performed dangerous stunts with no regard to their personal health or medical bills. That ragtag group started the now-iconic series: Jackass. Although the original production only ran for three very short seasons, it took hold of the general public, inspiring folks from all around the world to pick up a camera and do something crazy. Following the wrap of Jackass, a franchise was born, with spin-off shows like Viva La Bam and...

Without a doubt, the 1980s was the most delightfully dangerous era in music history, thanks to the rise of Hair Metal. Now, that legendary and infamous era in rock music gets the documentary treatment with Nthin' But A Good Time: The Uncensored Story of '80s Hair Metal, based on the book of the same name by Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock. This three-part series features dozens of stories about sex, drugs, fist fights, and everything else that made the Sunset Strip the ultimate destination for rock and roll enthusiasts back in the day.
Director Jeff Tremaine is no stranger to the freewheeling, "anything goes" nature of rock and roll culture, having cut his teeth as co-creator of Jackass, the legendary MTV series starring Johnny Knoxville, Steve-o, and other daredevils with presumably outrageous insurance premiums. When it comes to stunts on Jackass, many people believe that there is nothing that would have stopped one of their crazy, often dangerous, usually stupid stunts from being carried out. However, it seems that one particular stunt was canceled thanks to star Steve-Os chance encounter with a transgender supermarket cashier on the day before he was set to undergo breast implant surgery in the name of comedy.
Speaking recently to Consequence of Sound, Steve-o revealed that everything was in place and planned to go ahead with the dubious procedure, but a sign from the universe gave the star reason to back out after speaking to the cashier. He said:

“Jackass” alum Steve-o revealed in a new interview with Consequence that he scrapped a plan to temporarily get breast implants for hidden camera sketches that he was planning to film for his upcoming live tour, “The Super Dummy Tour.” The idea was for Steve-o to make himself look like a woman and then trick groups of men on the street.
“I got within 10 hours of being in surgery for that,” Steve-o said. “The surgery was supposed to happen at eight in the morning. And 10:00 Pm the night before, I got a call that the anesthesiologist backed out of it, because he found out that it was me doing it as a stunt.
