    AWESOME

AN AWESOME FILM WHICH WAS ONE OF THE BIG HITS OF THE YEAR BUT I FEEL THE FILM IS UNDERRATED AS IT REQUIRES MORE APPRECIATION COMPARED TO OTHER MOHANLAL-PRIYADARSHAN FILMS.

    Engaging and worthy of recommendation

The film Aryan is an action thriller drama, directed by Priyadarshan.

The plot chronicles the transformation of an unassuming Brahmin youth into a prominent figure in the criminal underworld of Mumbai. Devanarayanan was employed as a priest in a temple belonging to an affluent family. As a result of betrayal, they suffered a loss of wealth. Presently, his family is experiencing a significant financial crisis and is facing starvation. However, he applied himself assiduously to his duties and strove to reclaim his ancestral home. His adversaries fabricated false accusations against him, claiming that he had stolen valuable jewelry from the temple. Subsequently, he was expelled from his house on the basis of a misunderstanding. He migrated to Bombay with no possessions. There he wandered a great deal and faced numerous challenges. In order to survive, he resorted to thrashing a local criminal. This marked the beginning of his involvement with the Bombay underworld. He became the right-hand man of a gang leader who ruled over the underworld. For the gangster, he engaged in illegal businesses, killed enemies, saved the gangster's life and was arrested. He also had a romantic interest on a girl within the gang.

Following a period of incarceration, he returned to his native place with financial assistance from the gangster. However, the family circumstances were not as he had anticipated, as his brother-in-law had misappropriated the funds that had been sent for the benefit of the family. Nevertheless, he was able to demonstrate his innocence to his father and family, And regaining possession of his hereditary house.

The film's climactic scenes could have been more effectively executed. They are incongruous with the rest of the film and detract from its overall coherence. Even without these scenes, the film would be engaging and worthy of recommendation.

The film's narrative is of mediocre, yet the filmmaking techniques employed are of an excellent standard. It is recommendable that the film is totally engaging except climax scenes. All the actors, especially Mohanlal, Ramya Krishnan, Balan K Nair and Kuthiravattam Pappu, acted well. The use of local slang is noteworthy. Additionally, the musical scores are relentless.

    Intriguing and Interesting

This movie is very intriguing and interesting. I feel like this movie is underrated as it's rarely mentioned in the news articles. I like how Lalettan plays a Brahmin priest who transforms into a gang member later in the movie. Lalettan fans such as myself can empathize what he suffers throughout this movie. Lalettan as Devanaryanan (Devan) is framed for theft of the village temple. His father believes the accusations and curses him. M. G. Soman as Arumukhan, Innocent as Govindan Nair, C. I. Paul as Inspector Chandrappan along with another priest of the temple are jerks who framed him. I also like how the movie opens with a suspenseful scene in which a man gets shot by the villain Sharat Saxena as Majeed Khan because this is a crime thriller movie and the intro scene is prefect. The scenes I don't like in this movie are when Devan gets battered and clobbered by the police for the theft accusations, the scene where Gavin Packard as Martin is physically tormenting Devan, the scene where Devan is taken hostage by Majeed Khan, and the scene where Ramya Krishnan as Nirmala is assaulted and tied to a chair bleeding. I must say Nirmala is glamerous and she stood with Devan throughout half the movie. The scens I do like are the fight scene in which Devan wins. For Example, I like the scene where Lalettan as Devan defeats Gavin Packard as Martin in a fighting tourmanent. Furthermore, I like the scene where Lalettan fights the gang in the scene where Kundara Johny as Nair is attacking Balan K Nair as Kunjali and Monisha as Sainaba. To Conclude, this movie is a fascinating crime thriller.

Hard hitting action and drama flick

This is a Malayalam language action and drama film starring Mohanlal and Ramya Krishnan.

The film is one of those in the 80s starring Mohanlal which deserved much better appreciation than they do today. Action films like this have more element to them than those that came in the late 90s starring Mohanlal which had no story element to them. This movie feels more realistic and well written. The character goes through a lot of struggle to metamorphise from a priest's son in Kerala framed for a crime he hasn't committed to becoming a dreaded gangster in Mumbai. Ramya Krishnan's performance as his love interest is also excellent. If films like these had become massive hits she would have got better chances to play lead heroine roles.

The film has a tragic end and the message is apt to convey that crime does not pay. But the ending scene is a soul stirring cry of the youth who's left with no choices. When he screams from the witness box in the classroom of what choice did society leave him with when he was wronged and forced into this path to survive. Indeed, a call to conscience keepers in pre - liberalized Bharat.

    A good film to watch.
