A Good Sequel – Not As Bad As Indicated in Some Reviews

Lisa Burnley (Tara Spencer-Nairn) owns a boutique and lives with her beloved boy-friend Sam (Jason Thompson), who became crippled and very bitter after a motorcycle accident. Sam's lawyer Steven Verdel (Michael Trucco) has a crush on Lisa. The Wishmaster possesses Steven's body, and he tries to grant three wishes to Lisa, to release the Djinn demons and start the Armagedon on Earth. However, when she tells Steven: "- I wish I could love you for who you really are.", her third wish is a paradox, since it depends on herself to be granted. The Wishmaster unsuccessfully tries to seduce Lisa.

Although having flaws in the story, "Wishmaster 4: The Prophecy Fulfilled" is a good sequel. I like this character very much, and the two first movies are excellent. In this fourth episode, there is a lack of humor in the deaths of The Wishmaster. Further, there is a character, Hunter, supposed to be good, but the guy decapitates an innocent woman without any reason. Lisa is the "Waker" that will fulfill the prophecy since she found the red stone. One who wakes a djin shall be given three wishes. Upon granting the third, an unholy legion of djins are freed through a doorway between the worlds upon the Earth. The actress Tara Spencer-Nairn has a beautiful body (specially her breasts) and is very gorgeous. Therefore, this film is not as bad as indicated in some IMDb reviews. My vote is six.

    The worst sequel

Since the third wish is never granted, or the Djinn dies before, I thought that this would be awesome because we finally get to see what happens when the prophecy is fulfilled. But I was so wrong. The prophecy wasn't even fulfilled, so the title is pretty much wrong.

Out of 90 minutes, this has about 15 of unnecessary sex scenes which don't really add anything to the story. Not that I hated it, but it just wasn't needed and the time could've been spent on the story, like the Hunter thing, which I had no idea from where and why he came.

Another bad thing was the special effects. They were just awful. I mean, this movie was made 4-5 years ago and it was like watching an 80s horror flick. Nightmare on Elm Street had better special effects than this load of rubbish.

Just stay away from this horrible movie. If you were unlucky enough to waste money on renting the third, don't make an even worse mistake.

The Final Film in the Wishmaster Series

This film essentially begins with an attractive woman by the name of "Lisa" (Tara Spencer-Nairn) voluntarily taking care of her boyfriend "Sam" (Jason Thompson) after he suffers from a motorcycle accident which has left him paralyzed from the waist down. To that effect, it's during this time that a mutual friend named "Steven Verdel" (Michael Trucco) agrees to lend his services as their attorney and files a civil lawsuit on their behalf. As time goes on, Steven gradually falls in love with her which ultimately leads to him giving her a gift that he had purchased a little while earlier. What he doesn't realize, however, is that the gift just happened to have the jewel which contains the essence of an evil "Djinn" (played by both John Novak and Michael Trucco) who is somehow brought back to life once Sam puts the jewel in his office safe. Quite frankly, I'm not sure how this action served as a catalyst, but once revived, the evil djinn quickly goes about seeking to fulfill three wishes from Lisa which will usher in Armageddon upon the entire world. Now, rather than reveal any more, I will just that, unlike the first three movies in this series in which the Djinn desperately tries to obtain the third wish from his main victim, he actually accomplishes his primary objective in this one. An interesting step forward, in my opinion. Unfortunately, the special effects were clearly inadequate when other supernatural creatures were introduced, and things went downhill fast from that point. That being said, although this film wasn't quite as bad as its immediate predecessor, it still wasn't nearly as good as it could have been, and I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.

    A truly laughable "Horror" sequel

There are so many things wrong with this film it's hard to even begin. The first two Wishmaster films were quite good, the third was sub-par, but still not terrible. I was thinking maybe there was hope that this one would be somewhere online with the first two films. Was i ever wrong, this one is truly pathetic even as far as sequels go. The first scene is a graphic sex scene, and then they play some MTV "Happy Song" ... first bad move for a horror movie, trendy pop songs ruin the whole atmosphere early. The "Demon" voices of the Djinn and the Guardian (or whatever the idiot angel with the sword was) makes it laughable. I mean, they sound like childish attempts at making normal vocals into demonic vocals. In closing, the first third hour of the movie is the worst, the second third of the movie is tolerable, and the last third of the movie is just plain moronic. I'll bet Wes Craven is glad he had nothing to do with this disaster.
    Remster

I just wasted another 90 minutes of my life.

After seeing the third movie, which was abominable, I didn't think it could get much worse with the fourth (and hopefully last) movie in the Wishmaster series. Unfortunately I was wrong, not only was it bad this time, but it was boring as hell too! As someone stated before, the abundant (and redundant) use of nudity (well, for American standards anyway) seems to try and cover up how bad this movie really is. I found it to be more enjoyable to read some of the other comments about this movie. The comments from the person who actually thinks there's a deeper meaning to this movie and was happily surprised to see the 'softer' side of the Djinn really made my day.

If you enjoy watching a plethora of fake fire effects, this is your movie, if not, don't even bother.
