    Some Fine Gags

George Chandler works as a printer for the newspaper. He wants to marry the boss's daughter, Virginia Brooks. But mother wants her to marry a wealthy English lord, so George decides to go out and capture escaped gangster Wheeler Oakman for the reward. He quickly runs into his target, or rather, their cars do, and they go off and kidnap the English lord.

It's a late talking short produced by Jack White's comedy unit at Educational Pictures, and directed by Roscoe Arbuckle. He ornaments the comedy with some nice pratfalls and a repeating gag involving people walking onto a balcony that isn't there and falling into the mud below. It's no classic, but it is a lot of fun.

The Aspiring Reporter: Say, you big sap! What are you trying to do?

The Gangster: I'm sorry, old man. I didn't see you.

The Aspiring Reporter: Well, you'd better keep your eyes open. You could kill a guy that way.

The Gangster: You know, I never thought of that. That's worth remembering!
