Riaz Khan along with his bunch of cronies keep teasing every new girl on the college campus .
They are notorious trouble makers . They gang up against Meera ( a new comer ) . After initial teasings and bantering they realize that she has a very sad story . Her mother Manjula leads a pathetic life with her father .
He is trying to sell her off to some one in another town . Manjula's wails and pleads are of no use . He has no intentions of getting her married off .
The boys undergo a heart change . Meanwhile one among them falls in love with her .
Leaded by Riaz Khan with Manjula's help , they help the lovers escape to another town .
Meera starts living with an old couple Sukumari and Nagesh . They treat her like their own daughter .
Meanwhile her father comes to know this and tries to track her .
The second half is a comedy of errors running catching .. escaping .. searching .. between the lovers, his strict grand pa ( veteran Shammi Kapoor ) , her predatory father, her foster parents Sukumari Nagesh plus the 4 friends.
Balachander comes in a short light role as a well wisher and gives them refuge .
In the end they manage to get married. Meera's father comes and shoots both of them .
A lot of fights and twists later , both the lovers come out of this ordeal . Its a happy ending for the love birds . Shammi Kapoor too gives in finally to his grand son's love .
A fun filled family fare .
