Another Landmark classic of Rajesh Khanna after Avataar

This is an another classic film of Rajesh Khanna with the same director (Mr. Mohan Kumar) after all time classic Avataar. But the most significant fact is to watch in this film, the classic performance of Mr. Khanna in a completely different way of characterization that no body can say that this is the same old man of Avataar. This 'otherness' can only be seen in Rajesh Khanna so far as Indian movies are concerned. It is so because his way of expressing a character just comes directly through heart, which makes every character natural and life like. The characterization of Mr. Amrit Lal is not an exception. Here we again watch our beloved Super Star Actor with a very strong performance played with the another great Late Smita Patil instead of another great Shabana Azmi (Avataar).I rate this movie as an excellent one, as it truly portrays the social image of average Indian family in real sense.

    Old is Gold

I saw this movie in my childhood. Almost 20 yrs ago from now. 80s was the time when different types of movies were made like love based , action, Disco pop culture, comedy and such other topics. But this movies is based on reality u have to face in life. Best pairing, good story line, nice star cast and much more good things makes a good movie. This movie shows us how life is, What r different colors of life and how we should face it and live it. If u r in a mood of 80s classic, lovely movie. This is the movie u should watch. A complete family movie. It will not bore u r waste u r time. But instead u can learn something from it.

classic landmark by rajesh khanna and smita patil

This is one of those gem movie in which the main lead gave full justice to the role.I if there is a system to to give mark as per the acting then I give both actors 1000 out of hundred. There is no word to describe the acting of both rajesh khanna and smita patil. Now a days heroine though are over 40 years playing teen role with male actors who are half of their age but in this movie smita patil who was over 30 years played the role of mother and did such a superb acting and rajesh khanna ,what to say he gave full justice to the role and made the character alive.I cannot image anyone acting in place of these superb actors.I rate this movie 10 out of ten if there had been more score for the rating system i would have give full mark rating to this movie.I recommend everyone to watch this movie.

    Warm hearted entertainer

Amrit is another classic from Mohan Kumar who had earlier directed Rajesh in the blockbuster "Avtaar".

Avtaar dealt with elders being neglected by their family. Here, the theme is also similar but with a nice twist in the end.

The film can be watched with the entire family. Rajesh Khanna puts in another memorable performance as does Smita Patil. Music is OK.

The film does not have a comedy track & that is its only weak point, though Shafi Inamdar & Satish Shah provide a few laughs.

The film was a success at the box office.

After this, Mohan kumar announced that he would be doing another with Kaka titled "Amba". But things did not fall through & he directed Amba with Anil kapoor in the lead.
