Frère 2

Our favourite hero is now a literal hero. In the 3 years between the 2 movies we see he has settled in fine, made some money in his craft and goes between models/singers/random girls in stores. A real no fuss fella.

Circumstances send our cast to america to solve some personnel issues and grim hilarity ensues. This second movie is half about examining russian society as it is about american one. It can get offensive, it can get funny, but it remains very russian. There are notable moments and sentences that you will pick on as they come on screen. The acting is in the same uniform no fuss style from the first movie, just more mature. Sadly the american actors are horribly annoying and wooden... Not sure if on purpose or just picked the lowest bidder.

Anyway, in the year 1999/2000 when this was made you will remember how easier life was and how nicer people were... yes. Before terrorism, before TSA before all that. This movie cannot be made today in any realistic way; society has changed so much and that will hit you if you are old enough to remember how life was.

The ending scene (or 2) is good and yes, it has a message. I felt it was very well done after all we are told and showed about the characters in "brother 2". A movie with a closure if you will. In so few words.

I want to spoil nothing so i will say nothing specific. Else the effect might subdued when you watch.
